Discovery Call Specialist (Remote)

Modern Thyroid Clinic

Austin, TX โ€ข Remote

$84.40K - $85K/yr

Full-time, Part-time

Posted 7 days ago

Job description

Modern Thyroid Clinic is the leading thyroid specialty healthcare provider in the United States. For over ten years, we have helped patients most of them women navigating long, difficult health journeys finally get answers and feel like themselves again, earning well over 600 five-star reviews across multiple platforms.

The Discovery Call Specialist is the first human voice prospective patients meet. This person conducts complimentary discovery calls (held via Zoom) with individuals who have reached out to learn more about our care. The goal of these calls is not to enroll people; it is to listen, build trust, answer questions clearly, provide reassurance, and help each person determine whether Modern Thyroid Clinic is the right fit for them. When it is the right fit, the Specialist warmly invites the prospective patient to begin their care.

This role requires high empathy, a kind and gentle demeanor, strong communication skills, and the ability to guide a meaningful conversation with purpose and care never pressure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct complimentary discovery calls with prospective patients over Zoom, with the camera on.
  • Listen first and create a safe, supportive space in which each person feels seen, heard, and respected.
  • Build trust through warmth, patience, and genuine care.
  • Clearly explain how telehealth care works, what it costs, what to expect, and what makes our providers different.
  • Provide reassurance to individuals making a vulnerable, important decision about their health.
  • Guide each conversation toward the right outcome for the patient helping them find their best fit, even when that fit is not with us.
  • For prospective patients for whom our care is right, warmly invite them to begin care with the clinic.
  • Apply a consultative, question-led approach to onboarding that builds confidence rather than applying pressure.
  • Represent the mission, values, and culture of Modern Thyroid Clinic in every interaction.
Required Qualifications
  • Prior relevant experience conducting discovery calls and/or helping patients or clients make positive, confident decisions about their care or wellbeing. (Candidates without this experience will not be considered.)
  • Prior experience in consultative onboarding a question-led, trust-based approach to guiding people through a decision.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills; articulate, warm, and clear.
  • Comfortable and polished showing up for work on Zoom with the camera on.
  • High empathy and the emotional maturity to hold space for someone's fears and hopes with grace.
  • Ability to connect easily with people who are struggling, particularly women navigating difficult health journeys.
  • Must be able to work full-time, 40 hours per week (this is not a part-time role).
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to be verified for employment through E-Verify.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with a consultative, question-led sales or decision-guidance philosophy, such as the approach taught by Jeremy Miner.
  • A personal connection to health challenges. (Many of our team members and clinicians were once patients themselves. A thyroid condition or any condition is not required.)
Work Schedule & Arrangement
  • Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
  • Moderately flexible scheduling within standard business operations.
  • Fully remote / telehealth.
  • Reliable high-speed internet and a professional, distraction-free environment suitable for video calls are required.
What We Offer

Modern Thyroid Clinic is a culture-first company. We treat each other with respect no pettiness, no gossip and we actively support, train, and develop our team. Our average employee tenure exceeds five years, with team members who have been with us since our earliest days. For many of us, this is more than a job; it is a mission we believe in because we have seen the results firsthand.

Modern Thyroid Clinic is a proud equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic.
