Job description

Skillforce is hiring Commercial Carpenters for ongoing project work at a secure federal site in Washington, DC. As a Commercial Carpenter, you will be responsible for metal stud framing and interior finish work on an active federal project. Commercial Carpenter Pay:

  • $46.00 per hour.
  • W-2 employment with weekly pay by direct deposit.

Commercial Carpenter Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday, day shift.
  • Full time with steady hours on site in the District.
  • Ongoing project work with a consistent weekly schedule.

Commercial Carpenter Responsibilities:

  • Lay out and frame metal stud walls from prints and field measurements.
  • Set track, studs, headers, and door frames to layout and hold them plumb and square.
  • Perform drywall hanging and patching tied to the framing scope.
  • Complete punch list items and interior finish repairs ahead of turnover.
  • Work from prints and take your own field measurements to confirm dimensions before you build.
  • Coordinate with the site foreman and other trades to keep the work on schedule.
  • Keep a clean, organized work area and follow all site safety requirements.

Commercial Carpenter Qualifications:

  • You have three or more years of commercial carpentry experience.
  • You have hands on metal stud framing experience and can work to layout without close supervision.
  • You own a standard set of carpenter hand tools.
  • You can pass a background check for federal site access and clear the site badging process.
  • You can pass a drug screen.
  • You are authorized to work in the United States.
  • Drywall, door and hardware, or interior finish experience is a plus.
