Job description

Skillforce is seeking experienced Commercial Carpenters for a project near Ft. Belvoir, VA. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of commercial carpentry experience with a vast knowledge in acoustical ceilings, metal-stud framing, and punch-out work.

Pay and Schedule:

Pay: $30-32 per hour

Schedule: 40 hours per week guaranteed, possibility of overtime.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and finish interior trim, millwork, doors, frames, and hardware in commercial settings.
  • Install acoustical ceilings- measure, cut, and fit various acoustic ceiling into a grid.
  • Build and install cabinetry, countertops, baseboards, wall panels, and crown molding to high‑end specifications.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications to plan and sequence work.
  • Frame interior walls, install metal/wood studs, and hang drywall for commercial remodel and new‑build projects.
  • Safely operate hand and power tools, including miter saws, table saws, routers, drills, and nail guns, in accordance with OSHA standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area and assist with site cleanup and material handling as needed.
  • Coordinate with site supervisors and other trades to keep projects on schedule and deliver quality workmanship.

Qualifications Required:

  • 5+ years of recent commercial carpentry experience (interior trim, doors/frames/hardware, framing, or buildout work) within the last 5 years.
  • You Must be a US Citizen.
  • Proven ability to perform precision finish work in occupied or high‑end commercial environments.
  • Ability to read and work from blueprints, layouts, and shop drawings with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient with basic hand tools and common power tools and able to work safely at heights and on ladders or scaffolding.
