We are seeking an experienced Construction Contracts Manager to support a major capital project in Houston, Texas. This role will be responsible for the commercial management and administration of construction contracts, overseeing contract execution, variations, change orders, claims management, and contractor performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Working closely with Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Finance, and Project Controls teams, you will ensure contracts are effectively managed, risks are mitigated, and project objectives are delivered in line with contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the administration of construction contracts from award through closeout.
- Prepare, negotiate, and administer contract variations and change orders.
- Review and evaluate contractor claims, disputes, and commercial risks.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, project procedures, and governance requirements.
- Maintain contract documentation, correspondence, and reporting.
- Support commercial negotiations with contractors, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
- Work closely with Project Controls to assess the commercial impact of scope, cost, and schedule changes.
- Support risk mitigation, dispute resolution, and project closeout activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Business, or a related discipline.
- Strong experience in construction contract management, contract administration, and commercial management on large capital projects.
- Demonstrated experience managing change orders, variations, claims, and contractor negotiations.
- Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proven experience working within EPC, EPCM, or major construction project environments.
- Pharmaceutical, manufacturing, energy, chemicals, or other regulated industry experience is highly desirable.
