• Conduct thorough preliminary interviews to assess client needs and document their journey from intake through treatment completion.
• Evaluate clients’ mental, behavioral, and emotional health through comprehensive assessments and clinical interviews.
• Develop customized intervention and recovery plans for individuals, couples, families, and groups, ensuring they align with best practices in mental health care.
• Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions that foster a safe and supportive environment for sharing and healing.
• Monitor client progress throughout treatment, adjusting plans as necessary to optimize outcomes.
• Collaborate closely with other mental health professionals including psychiatrists, physicians, and social workers to coordinate care for clients.
• Conduct follow-ups with healthcare team members regarding clients who have been admitted to hospital settings.
• Identify potential barriers to recovery and implement preventative measures to enhance client resilience and success.
• Support family members and primary caregivers in addressing and managing mental health challenges effectively.

In this role, you will work with a diverse range of clients, encompassing varying ages, backgrounds, and mental health challenges. You will be instrumental in supporting individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and others. Your interventions will have a profound impact on their personal growth and recovery journeys, ultimately contributing to their overall quality of life.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMFT, LPC, LCSW) in the state of Arizona.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Prior experience in a mental health counseling role is preferred.
• Proficient in using electronic health record systems such as AVATAR to maintain client confidentiality and accurate records.
• Familiarity with treatment for various mental health concerns, including substance use disorders.

• Experience in crisis management and intervention techniques.
• Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices and ethical standards.
• Understanding of the implications of various psychotropic medications commonly prescribed by physicians.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with an emphasis on compassionate client interaction.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to maintaining a healing, supportive presence for clients and their families.

San Antonio Counseling Services offers a competitive salary ranging from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications, along with a sign-on bonus for successful candidates.
