We are seeking a Pre-Sales Systems Engineer supporting Federal / National Security accounts aligned to the Ashburn, VA and Denver customer footprint.

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-sales technical leadership for strategic Federal / National Security customers.
  • Design and position secure networking solutions across campus, WAN, data center, and mission-critical environments.
  • Lead customer presentations, workshops, demonstrations, and proof of concept engagements.
  • Partner with Account Managers to qualify opportunities and drive technical strategy through closure.
  • Build trusted advisor relationships with customer stakeholders in highly secure environments.
  • Translate customer requirements into scalable HPE Networking solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering, services, channel, and sales teams to deliver winning solutions.
  • Maintain strong competitive knowledge of networking vendors and market trends.
  • Support account planning, pipeline development, and long-term territory growth.
  • Travel to customer locations as business needs require.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of pre-sales, systems engineering, or networking experience.
  • Prior Federal, DoD, IC, or classified customer experience required.
  • Candidate must possess active TS/SCI clearance; CI Poly preferred.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to travel approximately 10-25%.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Expertise in routing, switching, wireless, security, and data center networking.
  • Strong customer-facing communication and executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to explain complex technologies in simple business terms.
  • Proven success operating in relationship-driven customer environments.
  • Knowledge of HPE, Aruba, Juniper, Cisco, or comparable technologies.
  • Self-starter able to ramp quickly and work independently.

This range reflects the minimum to maximum combined base and target-level sales compensation that would be paid if the hire performs at 100% of their sales plan. Of that on-target pay amount, the mix of base salary and target-level sales compensation is 75%/25%."
