Job description

SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiations across technology and professional services categories for a temporary staffing and workforce solutions organization. This role will be responsible for developing sourcing strategies, optimizing supplier performance, negotiating favorable commercial terms, and driving cost savings while ensuring quality, compliance, and business continuity.

The ideal candidate combines strong procurement expertise with exceptional stakeholder management skills and experience managing complex supplier relationships in technology, consulting, professional services, and contingent workforce environments.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Sourcing & Category Management

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for technology and professional services spend categories, including software, SaaS, IT services, consulting, managed services, telecommunications, and business services.
  • Conduct spend analysis, market research, and supplier assessments to identify sourcing opportunities and cost optimization initiatives.
  • Lead competitive sourcing events, including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and supplier evaluations.
  • Build category strategies that align with organizational goals, operational requirements, and growth objectives.

Supplier Relationship Management

  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with strategic suppliers and service providers.
  • Evaluate supplier performance through defined KPIs, scorecards, and business reviews.
  • Identify and mitigate supplier risks related to financial stability, service delivery, security, compliance, and business continuity.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives with key suppliers to enhance value and service quality.

Contract Negotiation & Management

  • Lead commercial negotiations for supplier agreements, statements of work, master service agreements, software licensing agreements, and professional services contracts.
  • Negotiate pricing, service-level agreements (SLAs), payment terms, renewal provisions, data security requirements, and contractual protections.
  • Partner with legal, finance, IT, and business stakeholders throughout the contracting lifecycle.
  • Ensure contracts are properly documented, maintained, and compliant with company policies.

Stakeholder Partnership

  • Collaborate with department leaders to understand business requirements and sourcing needs.
  • Provide procurement guidance and recommendations to internal stakeholders.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and vendor selection decisions.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor on sourcing best practices and supplier management strategies.

Cost Savings & Value Creation

  • Identify and execute cost reduction, cost avoidance, and value-generation initiatives.
  • Track sourcing project outcomes and report savings achievements.
  • Drive process improvements that increase procurement efficiency and supplier effectiveness.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Procurement, or related field.
  • 7+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management experience.
  • Experience sourcing and negotiating contracts within technology and professional services categories.
  • Demonstrated success leading supplier negotiations and achieving measurable cost savings.
  • Strong understanding of contract terms, commercial negotiations, and supplier management principles.
  • Experience managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
  • Advanced analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in staffing, workforce solutions, human capital, or professional services industries.
  • Experience sourcing technology solutions including SaaS, cloud services, software licensing, cybersecurity, and IT consulting.
  • Professional certification such as CPSM, CPSD, CSCP, CPM, or equivalent.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position will not have any direct supervisory responsibilities.

Salary Range: $124,300 - $155,300 annually, depending on experience and geographic location plus eligibility for an annual bonus, subject to plan terms.
