Position Summary:
The Project Manager 2is responsible for successfully completing basic project planning activities, such as developing subcontract Statements of Work (SOWs) and monitoring project performance. This role operates with some experience and independence under moderate supervision, handling structured problems and beginning to interact across teams. Assignments vary and typically represent combinations of higher project complexity and quantities. Work may be reviewed by the task lead for quality and completeness. The Project Manager 2 manages multiple projects, supports project deliverables, and works with both internal and external partners.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Create and manage Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and Requests for Quote (RFQ).
  • Develop and manage subcontractor Statements of Work (SOWs) to support project objectives.
  • Support and monitor project performance, ensuring milestones and deliverables are completed on time and within budget.
  • Manage subcontracts, including tracking deliverables, reviewing invoices, and maintaining communication with external partners.
  • Begin to interact across teams, collaborating with internal BFA teams-including Contracts, Procurement, Finance, and Accounting-to support successful project execution.
  • Assign and track project tasks, ensuring team members are aligned with timelines and objectives.
  • Identify and assess project risks, proactively address potential obstacles, and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain thorough project documentation and prepare presentations, reports, and other materials as required.
  • Provide project status updates and reports as needed.
  • Develop proficiency in BFA's project management tools and platforms.
  • Represent BFA at relevant conferences, symposiums, and industry events when required.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for project needs and client meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Project management skills including the ability to define project scope, develop detailed project plans, and manage project deliverables and subcontractor invoices.

  • Background in federal government contracting is highly desirable, including familiarity with FAR, DFARS, and other procurement regulations.
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP) or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a secret security clearance.

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Remote/Hybrid Location Requirements:
