Project Controls Analyst
About the Role
The Project Controls Analyst supports client Project Managers by providing a high confidence interval analysis on matters of cost and schedule, supported by earned value methodology.
This remote role may require occasional travel to client sites located in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, and New Jersey.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in construction engineering, construction management, construction technology, civil engineering, other engineering, business management, or analytics OR related certification AND 3 years of related work experience in project controls, project management, construction management, or related field,
  • OR 4 years of related work experience in project controls, project management, construction management, or related field
  • Experience using Excel for data analysis, including vlookups, xlookups and pivot tables
  • Ability to use Primavera P6 / Oracle Primavera Cloud to:
    • Create and maintain CPM schedule from template or client schedule that adheres to all EVM and client reporting requirements
    • Build and maintain EVM schedule from template or client schedule through closeout
    • Adhere to all client and EVM reporting requirements

Preferred qualifications:
  • 5 years of related work experience in project controls, project management, construction management, or related field
  • Experience with other job-related software tools (example: SAP, Oracle suite)
  • Strong client-facing communication skills; effective relationship building skills
  • Willingness to effectively multi-task and handle multiple priorities in a challenging, fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of the Construction and/or Utilities industries
  • Residency within the client's footprint of Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, or New Jersey.
Responsibilities
  1. Perform the following duties with minimal guidance:
  2. Schedule management: Develop, maintain, and update project schedules, and perform schedule analysis to identify delays and propose corrective actions
  3. Cost management: Conduct cost tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis with corrective action proposals
  4. Earned Value management: Calculate and analyze EV metrics to identify project performance issues
  5. Risk management: Identify and assess project risks and develop mitigation strategies
  6. Scope management: Monitor and manage project scope to align with objectives
  7. Resource management: Track and manage project resources
  8. Process optimization: Provide feedback on processes, metrics, and reports within the Department internally and externally with the client
  9. Facilitate communication within the project team and within internal assigned task forces and initiatives
  10. Make rational and data-backed recommendations to influence project and portfolio outcomes
  11. Ensure data integrity and accuracy
  12. Guide and train new Project Controls Analysts in project controls processes and procedures
