The Role

The Finance Core / Integration Architect is responsible for the overall integrity, consistency, and governance of the enterprise financial architecture across S/4HANA. This role serves as the primary architectural authority spanning Revenue (BRIM/FI-CA), Supply Chain & Spend (P2P, AP, Project Systems), and corporate financial processes, ensuring all financial transactions, integrations, reporting structures, and controls align to corporate accounting standards and General Ledger requirements.

As a cross-functional leader, this role provides architectural direction, establishes enterprise standards, arbitrates competing business priorities, and ensures solutions are scalable, supportable, and financially compliant. This position is critical to maintaining a single source of truth for financial data across the ERP landscape.

This role is designated as a fully remote position within the United States.

The Main Responsibilities

Enterprise Financial Architecture

  • Own the end-to-end financial architecture across all major financial domains, including:
    • Accounts Receivable (BRIM/FI-CA)
    • Accounts Payable
    • Procure-to-Pay
    • Project Systems/EPPM
    • General Ledger
  • Ensure consistency between operational processes and financial outcomes.
  • Define and maintain architectural standards for financial transaction processing and accounting integration.

Financial Integration & Data Governance

  • Establish and govern integration patterns between SAP and connected enterprise applications.
  • Ensure consistent financial data definitions, business rules, and master data standards across platforms.
  • Define reconciliation and exception-handling standards for all financial interfaces.
  • Review and approve cross-functional integration designs impacting financial reporting or accounting processes.

Financial Controls & Compliance

  • Ensure system designs support SOX, audit, regulatory, and financial control requirements.
  • Partner with Security, Finance, and Audit teams to maintain appropriate segregation of duties and traceability.
  • Validate that financial controls are embedded within process and system designs.

Financial Reporting & Analytics

  • Align financial reporting structures, KPIs, and data models across Phase 1 and Phase 2 capabilities.
  • Establish standards for reporting semantics, metrics, and financial data consumption.
  • Ensure consistency between operational reporting and financial reporting.

Architecture Governance

  • Serve as the enterprise decision-maker for cross-domain architectural issues.
  • Facilitate architectural reviews and design approvals.
  • Resolve conflicts between Revenue, Supply Chain, Platform, and Finance stakeholders.
  • Promote standardization and reuse across ERP capabilities.

Program Leadership

  • Partner with business and technology leaders to support ERP transformation objectives.
  • Provide architectural mentorship to solution architects and technical leads.
  • Identify strategic opportunities to simplify processes, reduce technical debt, and improve operational efficiency.
What We Look For in a Candidate

Required Qualifications:

  • Total of 12+ years, with 10+ years of SAP architecture, ERP, or enterprise systems experience.
  • Deep understanding of SAP financial processes and integration patterns.
  • Experience spanning multiple financial domains, including:
    • AR and Revenue Accounting
    • AP and Procurement
    • General Ledger
    • Project Accounting
  • Proven experience leading enterprise-scale ERP transformation programs.
  • Experience designing and governing complex integrations across multiple platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of financial controls, audit requirements, and reconciliation processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence senior business and technology leaders.

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.
