Job description

JOB SUMMARY

The Technical Program Manager - Security is responsible for safeguarding the Ride & Show ecosystem across Universal’s theme park attraction systems. This role designs, implements, and sustains security controls that protect safety-critical Ride & Show environments while ensuring show quality, system availability, and guest experience remain uncompromised.

The Technical Program Manager - Security partners with ride controls, show systems, facilities, and enterprise security teams to architect and harden OT network security solutions. The role also leads risk-reduction initiatives from concept through turnover, driving the adoption of industry standards and best practices across diverse attractions.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement cybersecurity solutions for OT Ride and Show environments and. Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate cybersecurity solutions into existing OT infrastructures seamlessly. Develop & manage project plans, high-level milestones, GANTT charts, resource plans, and supporting budgets.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance on OT cybersecurity best practices to internal stakeholders. Oversee processes, PI Planning, and Program execution including creation and ownership of timelines and budgets. Facilitate changes to plans and the impacts of those changes, including budgets and reporting mechanisms to communicate security posture and progress to leadership. Run status meetings and/or scrum team ceremonies (daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc. as needed).
  • Security policy authoring (remote access, acceptable use, hardening baselines), SOW development, and compliance readiness (audits, evidence, runbooks, training). Lead cross-functional audit response activities for OT systems, including coordination with enterprise security and external stakeholders.
  • Vendor & Partner Oversight: Evaluate and oversee third-party vendors, contractors, and integrators and architectures to ensure security requirements are met throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Drive maturity of OT cybersecurity programs by identifying gaps, recommending enhancements, and implementing long-term strategic improvements. Communicate Program Information, status, and key health metrics to stakeholders. Facilitate inter-team communication and resolution of Program-level dependencies.
  • Provide oversight and direction on OT cybersecurity projects from initiation to turnover, ensuring timelines, budgets, and security objectives are achieved. Run status meetings and/or scrum team ceremonies (daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, retrospectives, etc. as needed).
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 5+ years of professional experience in cybersecurity engineering, including at least 3 years leading OT or industrial cybersecurity initiatives or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing security controls for ICS/OT environments, preferably within theme park, manufacturing, energy, or transportation systems.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute cybersecurity project plans, budgets, and schedules.
  • Strong understanding of network architecture, segmentation, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and remote access hardening.
