OVERVIEW

Are you ready to make a career change to Project Management? Merrick & Company is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join a team working on challenging, innovative projects within our High Performance Facilities Business Unit at our Atlanta, GA, Huntsville, AL, or Melbourne, FL offices or remotely from Jacksonville, FL.  


WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Assist with managing multi-discipline design teams executing Department of War (DoW) projects.
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders and clients to align schedules, design deliverables, and scopes of work.
  • Coordinate internal technical team calls, track design RFIs to clients, and share updates with team members in a timely manner.
  • Support QA/QC reviews of project deliverables.
  • Help develop project design budgets and schedules under the guidance of a senior project manager.
  • Review design documents for alignment with client and company standards and the client’s scope of work.
  • Monitor scope, schedule, budget, deliverables, and client expectations through project initiation, execution, and closeout.
  • Communicate and coordinate with project team members, subconsultants, and client stakeholders to support successful project execution.
  • Assist with monitoring and guiding the day-to-day work of technical staff, consultants, and contractors.
  • Help prepare fee proposals for studies, RFPs, and full-service design projects; support proposal negotiations and revisions with guidance from senior project manager.
  • Apply analytical skills to project approaches, standards, and solutions throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain positive client relationships.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree from an ABET accredited institution in Engineering or a Master’s degree of Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • 4-8 years' experience designing and managing small to medium sized multi-discipline projects in engineering, architectural, or other closely related field.
  • Must have proficiency with MS Office and MS Project.
  • Client projects for this position require U.S. Citizenship, no dual citizenship. #LI-Hybrid #LI-Remote

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Professional licensure (PE/RA) is desired.
  • Knowledge in working with the US Air Force, Air Force Center Engineering Center, NAVFAC, US Army Corps of Engineers, NASA, Intelligence Community, or Installation level engineering and contracting organizations is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to get secret clearance if required by the client.
