Job description

Job Overview:
The Integrated Customer & Supplier Communications Manager supports the development, execution, and measurement of integrated communications to UNFI's customers and suppliers. This role focuses on the day-to-day development, coordination, and delivery of 360 communications plans that drive engagement, reinforce brand reputation, and support key business priorities. This individual partners closely with cross-functional teams to source story ideas, conduct interviews, and draft high-quality content for the Newsroom, social channels, and newsletters. As part of the editorial team, this individual delivers timely, always-on campaigns that align with the company's narrative and strategic priorities. The role also supports the execution of on-site events and activations, including planning communications, coordinating materials, and delivering real-time content capture and amplification to extend reach and engagement.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Track deliverables, manage timelines, and ensure all components are delivered on schedule and meet quality standards.
  • Coordinate and execute 360-degree communications campaigns as part of overall editorial strategy. Source story ideas, draft copy, conduct interviews, and support internal programs and events including Selling Shows.
  • Partner with internal and external-facing teams to ensure consistent, aligned planning and messaging. Build strong, collaborative relationships cross-functionally to ensure audience needs and preferences are met.
  • Monitor and evaluate communication effectiveness and make data-driven improvements. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to continuously improve and processes to enhance reach, impact and efficiency.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Education/ Certifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field (master's degree preferred).

Experience:
  • 5-7 years of experience in corporate communications, preferably in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Experience executing integrated communication plans, campaigns, and storytelling initiatives across multiple channels.
  • Experience supporting on-site events and activations.

Knowledge/Skills/ Abilities:
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to think creatively and translate information into clear, compelling content.
  • Ability to develop and tailor messaging for different audiences.
  • Extremely organized and able to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and content deliverables.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and adapting to shifting needs.
  • Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available.

Work Environment:
  • Remote Role: This position is classified as remote where the associate will perform remote work from their primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so. While remote associates are not required to work from an office on a regular basis, they may be required to come to the office or other UNFI locations for necessary business reasons or if directed to do so by their manager.
  • Travel (minor): This position may require the associate to travel to company offices, distribution centers, or other locations for specific meetings or other business reasons.
