Role: Insights Production Editor
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Remote

Work You'll Do
The Insights Production Editor is directly accountable for adhering to schedules and managing the entire production process for assigned assets in line with style, quality, and accuracy expectations as well as house guidelines. This will include preparing the manuscript for design and graphics, hiring and supervising freelance copyeditors and proofreaders, and working closely with the managing editor and other members of the organization to complete projects. As such, the Production Editor is responsible for developing deep expertise regarding our house editorial rules and our subject matter and must be able to juggle multiple priorities and responsibilities, adjusting workflow as needed to accommodate shifting deadlines. The Production Editor will also be responsible for managing projects and publishing using both our content managing system (CMS) and authoring tool(s).
Responsibilities:
  • Oversees projects from delivery of approved content from manuscript to published product, including coordinating with content strategists, analysts, and outside functions such as Risk Management to incorporate corrections.
  • Reviews all assigned projects for house style, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Prioritizes workflow and completes work on schedule with direction from the Insights Managing Editor.
  • Manages CMS and authoring tool workflow for assigned projects.
  • Monitors schedules throughout the course of assigned projects.
  • Completes postproduction tasks for assigned products using Quark and/or the CMS.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Strong editorial skills
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior editorial work experience
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build and manage virtual relationships
  • Ability to implement and assimilate new processes in an environment of continuous improvement
  • Ability to take initiative and be an independent, accountable, dependable performer
  • Effective interpersonal skills, team-oriented approach, and ability to collaborate
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Solid PC skills including Microsoft Office product suite and Adobe Acrobat Professional

Preferred:
• Knowledge of the Chicago Manual of Style, 16th Edition
• Prior experience with and/or professional knowledge of human capital terminology and concepts
• Experience using a CMS and digital authoring tools
• Experience with remote work environments
