Job description

Strategic Segment Product Planner - Home Printing

Description -

About the Role

As a Strategic Segment Product Planner within the Home Printing Team, you will be the primary architect for printing solutions that define the next generation of the consumer and home office portfolio. You will act as the Voice of the Customer (VoC), translating deep market insights and customer feedback into a multi-year roadmap that captures "whitespace" opportunities and delivers "Better Together" experiences across hardware, software, and ink/toner services. Your mission is to secure market leadership by ensuring our home printing product lines not only meet financial targets but outpace the competition through superior platform value and user-centric innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Segment Strategy & Roadmap Lead: Drive roadmap rationalization and multi-year strategic planning, identifying emerging trends in the home and remote-work sectors to influence key initiatives and product direction.
  • Platform Design Wins & Ecosystem Leadership: Lead projects involving cross-functional coordination to provide integrated solutions, ensuring HP's home printers are the preferred "anchor" for modern digital home ecosystems.
  • VoC & Consumer Empathy: Serve as a champion for the Home User, using empathy-driven research to recognize features that solve critical pain points-such as setup friction and reliability-to enhance the overall user experience.
  • Software & Service-Defined Value: Act as the subject matter expert in software and subscription solutions (e.g., HP Smart App, HP+), focusing on the strategy and direction of digital offers to drive the business forward.
  • Market Intelligence & Analytics: Analyze data from various sources to assess gaps, identify high-growth opportunities, and provide detailed technical and business analysis to the broader printing team.
  • Matrixed Influence & Reporting: Regularly recommend and report out strategic direction to senior management, navigating a highly matrixed organization to improve processes and align development cycles.
  • Brand Ambassadorship: Act as a high-visibility Brand Ambassador, reinforcing HP's DNA of innovation and excellence at every stage of the product development and delivery lifecycle.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: College degree in Marketing, Business, or a Technical field; an MBA is highly preferred to align with strategic leadership requirements.
  • Industry Expertise: 8+ years of experience in product marketing or strategic planning within a dynamic technology industry.
  • Strategic Mindset: Proven "growth mindset" with a passion for technology and a deep understanding of the product lifecycle from initial design through end-of-life.

Communication & Leadership: Exceptional communicator with strong presentation skills and the ability to lead through influence across diverse professional styles and cross- functional teams.
