Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility while maintaining a collaborative work culture. Our telehealth model ensures that counselors can provide essential services from various locations, meeting clients in their homes to promote accessibility and comfort. The work schedule follows a standard weekday structure, with shifts from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, accommodating a healthy work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one counseling and crisis intervention for clients experiencing emotional and behavioral issues, utilizing appropriate therapeutic techniques as guided by their unique circumstances.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of each patient's needs and progress, producing detailed treatment plans tailored to individual goals.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary health care team, including physicians and support staff, to discuss client progress, potential barriers, and necessary adjustments in treatment plans.
  • Document all interactions, observations, and treatment activities in comprehensive clinical notes, ensuring compliance with department policies and maintaining patient confidentiality.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Mental Health Counselor at Shirley Mental Health Services, you will work with diverse client populations experiencing a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, substance use disorders, and those seeking support for life transitions. Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling is required.
  • Possession of one of the following independent licenses: Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
  • A minimum of two years of professional experience in a clinical setting is essential, demonstrating your ability to engage effectively with clients.
Preferred Experience

While the minimum requirement is two years of experience, candidates with additional experience in telehealth practices and those familiar with electronic health record (EHR) systems will be highly regarded.
