We are actively seeking a Regional Safety Consultant to join our National Safety Team.
This is a remote position with travel. Preferred candidates will be based near a major metropolitan area or airport hub to support travel requirements. Key target markets include Atlanta, Denver, Dallas/Fort Worth, Baltimore, Nashville, Chicago, and surrounding areas.
The Regional Safety Consultant will support regional Operating Units in all aspects of Safety and Risk Management by providing direct, hands-on support in safety training, jobsite inspections, incident investigations, claims management, and program administration, all aligned with the company's business goals and objectives. The primary focus of this role is to establish and maintain a consistent safety culture across all areas of the company's operations while driving innovative initiatives to foster teamwork, boost morale, and support organizational growth.
Job Functions:
  • Stay current with Tecta Safety Program policies, regulations, and operational processes, applying them to daily operations.
  • Conduct regular inspections of jobsites, fleets, equipment, tools, and facilities to identify and address hazards while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Support the Operations team in ongoing safety self-evaluations and corrective actions, promoting a behavior-based safety culture across the organization.
  • Conduct Safety Audits and provide coaching to Operating Unit Safety Representatives in assigned regions.
  • Develop and share comprehensive safety training and education programs for employees.
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate monthly Regional Safety meetings and calls.
  • Coordinate and participate execute annual Safety Day events.
  • Investigate work-related accidents and injuries, interviewing involved parties to identify root causes and implement preventive measures.
  • Report findings from accident investigations, jobsite inspections, or environmental testing to corporate leadership.
  • Conduct Gap Analyses for Operating Units in assigned regions to identify and address safety program deficiencies.
  • Manage safety-related incidents and claims, including workers' compensation, general liability, and automobile incidents, to minimize loss exposure while collaborating with the Tecta America loss control team.
  • Oversee OSHA interactions, including investigations, determinations, and resolutions.
  • Participate in Unit operational meetings, such as pre-construction and production meetings, to address safety concerns and provide input.
  • Meet with customers to discuss safety requirements for upcoming or ongoing projects.
  • Visit upcoming project sites to assess conditions, exposures, and safety needs.
  • Conduct meetings with Safety Leaders to discuss OSHA standards, violations, lessons learned, and potential hazards.
  • Resolve disputes regarding safety and risk management issues as needed.
  • Recommend and implement safety processes, equipment, and features to reduce workplace hazards. Demonstrate proper use of safety equipment.
  • Hold meetings with supervisors and employees to discuss safety standards, lessons learned from violations, and potential hazards, resolving disputes as needed.
  • Implement Provide internal communication initiatives, such as regular toolbox talks, to strengthen safety awareness and commitment within the Unit.
  • Provide bilingual translations of Company communications (English/Spanish) as needed

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
  • 5+ years of construction safety leadership experience; commercial roofing knowledge highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA, DOT, EPA regulations and workers' compensation.
  • Skilled in jobsite safety, hazard elimination, and compliance.
  • Proven ability to lead safety initiatives, investigations, and risk management.
  • Proficient in safety software, training development, and communication.
  • Ability to travel up to 75%
  • Ability to safely climb ladders up to 40 feet
  • Occasional lifting of materials weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to access and navigate job sites, including climbing onto roof areas and elevated spaces
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • OSHA certifications (510/500)
  • Incident management experience a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and communication skills.
