Job description

BridgePhase is a mission-focused technology company that designs, builds, secures, and operates modern digital solutions that drive national security, government efficiency, and mission success across the Federal Government. We empower agencies to achieve meaningful outcomes through high-performing software engineering, cloud, DevSecOps, cybersecurity, AI/ML, and platform modernization solutions delivered by collaborative teams focused on innovation, adaptability, and operational excellence. As a trusted partner, BridgePhase helps Federal organizations modernize critical systems, accelerate delivery, and achieve lasting mission impact.
BridgePhase is seeking a Drupal-focused Data Migration Specialist to join our team supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in the implementation of a mission-critical collaboration and content management platform.
This role is primarily focused on importing, transforming, and structuring legacy data from SharePoint into a modern Drupal platform. As part of a cross-functional team, you will have primary responsibility for the target-side migration into Drupal, including data mapping, transformation, scripting, and alignment with Drupal content models and data structures. This role emphasizes ensuring that legacy data is accurately and efficiently ingested into Drupal in a way that supports scalability, usability, and long-term maintainability of the platform. This is a remote position.
In this position, you can expect to:

  • Design and execute data import strategies into Drupal, based on datasets extracted from SharePoint environments.
  • Develop and maintain ETL processes and migration scripts to transform and load structured and unstructured data into Drupal.
  • Translate legacy SharePoint data (lists, libraries, metadata, permissions) into Drupal-compatible structures and formats.
  • Perform data mapping, transformation, and normalization, ensuring consistency with Drupal content models and taxonomy.
  • Implement migration workflows that preserve:
    • Content relationships
    • Metadata and taxonomy
    • User permissions and access controls
  • Conduct test migrations, validation, and reconciliation to ensure completeness and accuracy of migrated data.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve migration issues such as data inconsistencies, transformation errors, or missing relationships.
  • Document mapping rules, transformation logic, and migration runbooks.
  • Collaborate with Drupal developers and architects to define content types, entities, and taxonomy structures that support incoming data.
  • Configure and/or extend Drupal migration capabilities (e.g., Migrate API, custom scripts, or modules).
  • Support implementation of Drupal-side migration pipelines, ensuring alignment with platform architecture and performance considerations.
  • Contribute to data model design and content architecture decisions to enable scalable and maintainable ingestion patterns.
  • Participate in debugging and optimizing Drupal-based migration processes and data ingestion workflows.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate migration activities into CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
  • Work closely with:
    • Data migration specialists (source/SharePoint side)
    • Drupal developers and architects
    • DevOps and platform engineers
  • Support user acceptance testing and post-migration validation.

As with any technical environment, the exact role responsibilities will evolve with the changing needs of our client. We are looking for versatile candidates who thrive on new challenges and can readily adapt to additional responsibilities beyond those listed above.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
  • Strong experience performing enterprise data migrations from SharePoint environments.
  • Hands-on experience with:
    • Data transformation and scripting (Python, SQL, PowerShell, or similar)
    • ETL processes and migration automation
    • Metadata, taxonomy, and content modeling
    • Migrating document libraries and files, lists and structured data, permissions and access models
  • Strong troubleshooting and data validation skills.
  • Experience working with Drupal content architecture, including content types, entities, fields, and taxonomy
  • Familiarity with Drupal migration frameworks (e.g., Migrate API) and/or custom ingestion approaches.
  • Working knowledge of PHP and Drupal fundamentals as well as data modeling within Drupal systems
  • Experience supporting or implementing content migrations into Drupal or similar CMS platforms.
  • Experience with migration tools (ShareGate, Metalogix, DocAve, or similar) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with AWS or cloud-based environments.
  • Experience working in large-scale modernization or federal environments preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related field.
  • Existing or recent DHS clearance strongly preferred. Public Trust Clearance will be required.
