Job Description:
This position provides specialized fitness/aerobic instruction. This position conducts training from approved curriculum resources. May conduct needs assessment and individualize educational activities as appropriate for participants.
Job Essentials
  • Assesses participant needs and adjusts class curriculum accordingly. Adapts programs and routines to meet the needs of individuals and groups for exercise efficiency.
  • Participates in the marketing and promotion of fitness classes. Helps develop communication and information tools to promote classes and activities.
  • Teaches classes and adapts teaching strategies for improved delivery of education to meet audience needs based on participant feedback.
  • Ensures classes contain applicable supplies and sets up classroom (as needed per educational content). Greets and encourages class members as needed. May provide additional materials and information to individuals with specific needs.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Current and applicable 'Group Fitness Certification' (i.e. AFAA, ACE, ISMA, ACSM) or approved specialty fitness certification.
  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • 1 year of experience in teaching group fitness, preferred.
Carrying, Climbing, Crawling, Hearing & Listening, Pulling & pushing , Lifting, Squatting/kneeling, Standing, Walking, Speaking, Manual dexterity.
