Job description

ABOUT CIM GROUP:
CIM is a community-focused real estate and infrastructure owner, operator, lender, and developer. Our team of experts works together to identify and create value in real assets, benefiting the communities in which we invest. Back in 1994, our three founders focused on projects in Southern California neighborhoods. Today, we are a diverse team of 900+ employees with projects across the Americas. Our projects have delivered jobs; created comfortable places to live, work, and relax; and provided necessary and sustainable infrastructure. Our focus on enhancing communities is unwavering, and we strive to make an even greater impact in the years to come. Join us and make an impact today!

POSITION PURPOSE:

As an Infrastructure Engineer, AI focused on Microsoft Copilot and the Microsoft Power Platform, you will own the design, development, governance, and operational support of enterprise AI and productivity solutions. This role is responsible for building and administering AI agents using Copilot Studio, developing automated workflows, and establishing secure, scalable governance models across the Power Platform.

You will work directly with business users to enable adoption—helping teams design, build, and troubleshoot AI agents—while also ensuring solutions align with enterprise architecture, security standards, and data governance practices. The role operates as an individual contributor but will partner closely with a broader, cross-functional AI team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • AI Agent Development & Enablement:
Design, build, and administer AI agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio, with a focus on SharePoint-based knowledge grounding. Partner directly with business users to gather requirements, co-develop solutions, and troubleshoot agent behavior, accuracy, and performance. Promote reusable design patterns and best practices for scalable agent development.
  • Workflow Automation (Power Platform):
Develop and manage automated workflows using Power Automate and related services. Build integrations between Copilot agents and enterprise systems, ensure reliability and error handling, and optimize workflows for efficiency and maintainability.  Build flows that leverage SharePoint online forms, lists, and sites.
  • Governance Ownership (Power Platform & Copilot):
Own and enforce governance across Power Platform and Copilot Studio, including:
    • Environment strategy (Dev/Test/Prod).
    • Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies and connector governance.
    • Role-based access control (RBAC) and least privilege access.
    • Solution lifecycle management (ALM) and deployment standards.
    • Data usage policies, with focus on SharePoint-based AI grounding.

Continuously refine governance to balance innovation with risk management.

  • Security & Risk Management:
Implement and monitor security controls to protect enterprise data within AI solutions. Identify and mitigate risks such as data leakage, over-permissioning, and improper data exposure through AI agents. Partner with security teams as needed, but retain ownership of platform-level controls.
  • AI Integration & Targeted LLM Usage:
Design and implement integrations between Microsoft Copilot and external AI platforms where appropriate. Support use of Anthropic Claude, including administration of Claude Enterprise and secure API integrations. Define when to use internal vs. external AI models.
  • Platform Administration:
Administer Power Platform and Copilot Studio environments, including provisioning, monitoring, capacity management, and licensing optimization. Ensure platform health, performance, and alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Monitoring, Optimization & Reporting:
Track usage, adoption, and performance of AI agents and workflows. Identify opportunities to improve accuracy, reduce cost, and increase business value. Provide reporting and insights to IT leadership and the cross-functional AI team.
  • User Support & Training:
Provide Tier-2/3 support for AI solutions, working directly with end users to resolve issues and improve outcomes. Develop practical training materials, documentation, and governance guidelines to enable safe and effective self-service development.
  • Collaboration with AI Team:
Work closely with a cross-functional AI team to align on priorities, standards, and emerging use cases. Contribute to enterprise AI strategy through hands-on execution and feedback from real-world deployments.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: (including certification, licenses, etc.)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field preferred (e.g. Computer Science).
  • Industry Certifications a plus (e.g. Network+, Azure Administrator Associate).
  • 3–5+ years of experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse).
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Copilot Studio or similar conversational AI platforms.
  • Experience managing Anthropic Claude or similar non-Microsoft enterprise AI services.
  • Proven experience designing and enforcing governance in Power Platform environments.
  • Experience working directly with business users to design and troubleshoot solutions.
  • Familiarity with integrating external APIs and AI platforms.
  • Understanding of enterprise identity and access management (Entra ID).
  • Microsoft SharePoint: Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 ecosystem – especially SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive – and its administration tools.  Experience creating, managing, and securing SharePoint sites.
  • PowerShell: Strong PowerShell scripting skills for automating SharePoint administrative tasks (e.g., bulk updates, deployments, backups).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively support end-users and work with cross-functional teams.
ABOUT YOU:
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and escalate to a senior member of the team as necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication with end users, clients, and vendors.
  • Ability to communicate and present ideas and recommendations effectively to IT management or other business stakeholders.
