Remote Post Merger Integration information

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in Remote Post Merger Integration roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in Remote Post Merger Integration (PMI) roles often face challenges such as coordinating cross-functional teams across different time zones, ensuring effective communication between merging organizations, and aligning disparate corporate cultures. These challenges can be addressed by leveraging robust project management tools, establishing clear communication protocols, and scheduling regular virtual check-ins with stakeholders. Additionally, focusing on cultural integration through virtual workshops and open forums can help build trust and streamline collaboration in a remote environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Post Merger Integration (PMI) Specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Post Merger Integration Specialist, you need expertise in project management, financial analysis, and change management, often supported by a relevant degree and experience with mergers and acquisitions. Familiarity with integration management tools (like Smartsheet or Asana), CRM systems, and ERP platforms is typically required, and certifications such as PMP can be valuable. Strong communication, cross-functional collaboration, and problem-solving skills help navigate cultural differences and align diverse teams. These abilities are crucial for ensuring seamless transitions, achieving synergy targets, and minimizing disruption during the integration process.

What is a Remote Post Merger Integration specialist?

A Remote Post Merger Integration (PMI) specialist is a professional who manages the process of combining two companies after a merger or acquisition, working primarily from a remote location. Their responsibilities include aligning business processes, IT systems, cultures, and organizational structures to ensure a smooth transition and maximize the value of the merger. They coordinate with teams across both organizations to identify synergies, resolve integration issues, and monitor progress, all while leveraging digital tools and communication platforms. Effective remote PMI specialists possess strong project management, communication, and change management skills to navigate the complexities of integration without being physically present.

Job description

About X-Bow:

X-Bow Systems is a cutting-edge aerospace technology company focused on revolutionizing solid propellant propulsion systems for space exploration and defense applications. Our team of innovative engineers and scientists is committed to pushing the boundaries of what's possible in rocket propulsion and manufacturing.

About the Role:

As part of the Digital Engineering team, you will play a critical role in connecting engineering analyses and simulations into our Digital Ecosystem. This position focuses on simulation integration and orchestration - working directly with design engineers across disciplines to link their tools, models, and workflows into a unified, change-aware digital engineering environment.
You will collaborate closely with domain experts, software engineering, and data engineering to create the infrastructure needed to improve designs, cut design cycle times, and strengthen the Systems Engineering discipline.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with design engineers and analysts to document the inputs, outputs, and dependencies of analyses and simulations
  • Integrate engineering simulations and analysis tools into the digital ecosystem enabling data exchange, automation, and change awareness
  • Design and implement orchestration workflows to automate pre-processing, execution, and post-processing of simulations.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software and integration issues within the digital ecosystem
  • Work closely with Data Engineering to ensure simulation parameters and metadata are correctly stored in Authoritative Sources of Truth (ASOT) and represented in a graph database (semantics modeling)
  • This role may expand to include aspects of digital twin, hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and software-in-the-loop (SIL) design in the future
Required qualifications:
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a fast-paced engineering environment
  • Strong engineering fundamentals
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate simulations across multiple frameworks
  • Knowledge of API design, data exchange standards, middleware development, engineering tool adapters ("wrappers"), etc.
  • Proficiency in Python and one or more compiled languages (i.e. C/C++)
  • Strong communication skills to lead initiatives with broad groups of stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Exposure to graph databases and semantic modeling
  • Understanding of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE)
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools
  • Understanding of digital twin principles
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and/or software-in-the-loop (SIL)
  • Understanding of engineering lifecycles and systems engineering principles
Education:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science or similar.

Location:

Remote work is possible, but hybrid is preferred in one of our primary engineering locations of Austin TX, Huntsville, AL or Salt Lake City UT.
