Zagro Mental and Behavioral Services is seeking a dedicated and flexible Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our vibrant team remotely while making a real impact on children's lives. As a full-time therapist, you will provide critical in-community therapeutic services specifically tailored for children facing developmental and intellectual challenges. The position is structured as full-time remote work, allowing for greater flexibility and balance. While you will primarily conduct therapy sessions from your home office, there is the opportunity to engage directly with families in their homes or at our outpatient center. • Conduct individual in-home therapy sessions and group therapy sessions at our outpatient center, focusing on the unique needs of each child and their family.
• Utilize evidence-based techniques to deliver anger management, coping strategies, and social skills training to help clients reduce high-risk behaviors such as self-injurious behavior or aggression.
• Enhance decision-making skills in youth and caregivers, equipping them with the strategies needed to manage behavioral challenges in their homes effectively.
• Collaborate consistently with the Child Family Treatment Team along with interdisciplinary professionals, ensuring a coherent approach to supporting youth and their families.
• Maintain accurate documentation including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes, submitting required paperwork promptly within designated timelines.
• Participate in monthly team meetings, providing insights and recommendations based on client observations and treatment progress.

This role centers around a diverse group of children aged 3 to 20 who have developmental and intellectual disabilities (I/DD). You will be expected to empathize with a wide range of backgrounds and challenges, delivering trauma-informed care that caters to each child's specific needs. Your expertise in working with this vulnerable population will be pivotal to fostering resilience and positive behavior changes.

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, or a related field is required.
• Possession of an active and unrestricted LMFT license is mandatory.
• Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week during after-school hours (4-7 pm), with the willingness to accommodate weekend sessions when necessary.
• Demonstrated experience in providing positive behavioral support and interventions with children and adolescents.
• A valid driver’s license and access to a registered vehicle are essential for home visits.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check, including fingerprinting, is required.

• Prior experience working specifically with children who have intellectual and developmental disabilities will be considered a significant asset.
• Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic modalities and their application in real-world settings.
