Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate the trauma history of patients, ensuring a thorough understanding to guide treatment planning.
• Develop and implement tailored therapeutic plans focused on trauma recovery, employing evidence-based practices such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, encouraging clients to process their trauma experiences and providing tools for effective coping and healing strategies.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team of professionals to provide integrated care, ensuring continuity and effectiveness in treatment approaches.
• Provide crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies, reassuring clients and helping them navigate immediate distress.
• Educate patients and their families about the effects of trauma, coping mechanisms, and available community resources for further support.
• Maintain meticulous and compliant documentation of patient interactions and treatment, adhering to ethical and legal guidelines.
• Participate in case consultations and team meetings, continually improving practice through professional development initiatives related to trauma-informed care.
• Stay informed about the latest research, clinical practices, and innovations in trauma therapy to enhance treatment outcomes.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your work will primarily involve serving clients who have experienced various forms of trauma. This includes individuals with PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. You will play a vital role in guiding these patients through their recovery journey, building resilience and fostering a sense of empowerment in their healing processes.

Qualifications

• A Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in the state of Georgia.
• Strong knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methodologies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, exhibiting compassion and a non-judgmental demeanor.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling with a focus on trauma therapy.
• Considerable expertise in delivering trauma-focused therapeutic interventions.
• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and related technologies.

Compensation and Benefits
