Job description

The IT Support Specialist will provide top-notch technical assistance to our staff. This role's duties will include ensuring optimal use of our hardware and software technologies, enhancing performance of our technical systems, and securing data. The IT Support Specialist will also advise on IT equipment upgrades and provide administrative direction and support for daily operational activities. This individual will work closely with IT staff and stakeholders in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions for all aspects of the organization.


  • Associate’s degree in computer science or related field or two (2) years of professional work experience in an Information Systems environment and one (1) year healthcare, financial or clinical systems experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to adjust priorities accordingly to meet changing deadlines or priorities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong focus and attention to detail a must.
  • Must be computer knowledgeable and demonstrate knowledge of applicant tracking systems.

  • Assume a key role in a busy healthcare IT services area where strategic planning skills will be valued.
  • Troubleshoot technological issues and solve problems quickly to ensure our business operations run smoothly.
  • Maintain the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade and support of all PC’s, operating systems, hardware, software, and office automation equipment.
  • Install all new technology for the center, including computer operating systems, software programs and applications, new desktops/laptops/tablets, and other computer hardware.
  • Perform regular maintenance for our phone systems, computer systems, computers, printers, network systems, and any other technical equipment.
  • Provide software and hardware education support to end-users.
  • Administer new user accounts, work email addresses, and access levels to new employees to ensure they have everything they need to work efficiently.
  • Run security checks on all our systems to ensure we are protected from cybersecurity threats.
  • Work with the IT staff to implement all IT policies and procedures.
  • Administer MedCura’s integration strategy with external entities and organizations, including participation in a Health Information Exchange or similar activities.
  • Work with technology partners and vendors to optimize system efficiencies and resolve issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date inventory records of all microcomputer equipment with the center and other sites. Ensure all equipment is properly tagged and labeled. Ensure all software is properly licensed.
  • Establish and maintain regular written and in-person communication with the organization’s executives, department heads and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
