Job description

Public Health Business Analyst

The Opportunity:

Work with federal public health clients and a multi-disciplinary team to provide programmatic, technology, and project management support to enhance disease surveillance, preparedness, and outbreak response systems. Perform tasks such as project coordination, client engagement, and delivering strategic communications and presentations for leadership-level audiences, with ownership of workstreams and key deliverables. Provide project management and operational support to federal and commercial public health programs, supporting the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of solutions related to disease surveillance, immunizations, emergency preparedness and response, and medical countermeasures. Interface regularly with leadership-level federal customers to understand priorities, communicate progress, and present recommendations that drive alignment and decision-making. Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements, ensuring alignment with data governance standards and public health objectives. Collaborate with cross-functional teams-including developers, data scientists, system architects, and public health stakeholders-to design, evaluate, and implement data system solutions that improve data ecosystems, operational visibility, and efficiency. Support stakeholder coordination, communication planning, and change management activities to drive adoption of new processes and tools. Contribute to future-state planning and process improvements to modernize surveillance and preparedness systems. Provide subject matter expertise in public health domains and support project tracking, documentation, and timely delivery of high-quality outputs aligned with client objectives. This position is located in Atlanta, GA and supports both federal and commercial public health programs.

You Have:

  • 3+ years of experience supporting federal or commercial public health programs that support disease surveillance, preparedness, or outbreak response systems

  • 3+ years of experience providing project management support or task leadership, including developing client-facing presentations and reports

  • 3+ years of experience developing communications products

  • 3+ years of experience eliciting requirements and translating requirements into solutions

  • Knowledge of data systems

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  • Ability to work well in a team environment

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with federal healthcare or public health organizations and programs

  • Experience with public health surveillance systems, vaccines, or medical countermeasures practices

  • Experience managing projects using Jira and Confluence

  • Experience with stakeholder management

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $77,500.00 to $176,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
