Higher Heights for America, a 501(c)4 organization, and its sister organization, Higher Heights Leadership Fund, a 501(c)3 areย strategicallyย growing andย reconfiguringย itsย team.ย ย ย 

Position Overviewย 

Theย Programs and Politicalย Manager plays a key role in shaping and executing the organizationโ€™s politicalย data organizationย and establishingย beneficialย politicalย partnershipsย which playย a key role in strategic directionย and executionย This position manages political intelligence, oversees electoral landscape analysis, tracks candidate pipelines, and buildsย partnershipsย to ensure the organization is resourcing the right candidates at the right time. Theyย willย possessย experience and insights into best practices for research,ย pollingย and analysis while being able to merge those details into actionableย political tactics and messaging.ย Theย Political Manager will collect, analyze, and present political and electoral data to guide endorsements, candidate recruitment, programming, and resource allocation.ย 

This role is ideal for someone who is data-driven, politically savvy, and passionate about expanding representation at all levels of government.ย 

Key Responsibilitiesย 

Political Landscape Managementย 

  • Under the guidance of the National Programsย and Political Director,ย monitorย local, state, and federal political landscapes, including electoral calendars, emerging opportunities, redistricting impacts, and shifts in politicalย and electoralย dynamics.ย 

  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of priority states, races, and offices alignedย with Higher Heightsโ€™ catchment.ย 

  • Produceย timelyย politicalย andย electoral memos, briefs, and alerts forย Higher Heightsย Politicalย Actionย Committeeย (HHย PAC), executiveย leadership andย acrossย theย organization.ย 

  • As needed, and under the National Programsย and Political Directorโ€™s direction, track legislation, politicalย and electoralย trends, and power-building opportunities relevant toย Black womenย voters, elected leaders,ย candidatesย and candidatesย consideringย running forย higher office.ย 

Leadershipย Pipeline & Supportย 

  • Lead the management and strategic useย of the candidate pipeline database, applying independent judgment to assess, prioritize, and track prospective candidates, current candidates, and alumni in alignment with organizational politicalย strategy. Conductย research on potential candidatesโ€™ viability, political environment, andย ecosystem ofย support.ย 

  • Assisting the National Programsย and Political Directorย withย candidateย vetting processes andย preparingย briefing packets for leadership andย HH PAC.ย 

  • Support candidate onboarding and ongoing engagement to ensure they are fully resourcedย 

  • Support the implementation of leadership development andย trainingย programingย 

  • Workย across teams to development and implement ongoing engagement with members and stakeholders through virtual and in-person activations, including volunteer opportunities, GOTV efforts, and election-night events, in coordination with cross-departmental teams.ย 

Data & Research Managementย 

  • Oversee collectionย andย analysis of political, demographic, and voter data to inform organizational strategy.ย 

  • Develop dashboards and reports to visualize emerging trends, candidate progress, and overall landscape conditions.ย 

  • Provide strategic leadership for the #BlackWomenRun database, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and cross-system alignment to inform organizational decision-making. Strategicย Planning & Cross-Department Supportย 

  • Collaborate with theย Higher Heightsโ€™ Communications, Development and Office of the Presidentย teams to ensure landscape data informs strategy, messaging, and training.ย 

  • Support endorsement,ย resourceย allocation,ย and other cross-departmental needsย withย data and research.ย 

  • Provide guidance on targeting, district dynamics, and competitive assessments for key races.ย 

  • Contribute to development of multi-year politicalย and programย strategies, goals, and metrics for the organization.ย 

Relationship Managementย 

  • Build andย maintainย relationships with partner organizations, political operatives, party committees, and community stakeholders.ย 

  • Identifyย collaborativeย opportunitiesย for information sharing,ย dataย utilizationย ofย third-partyย tools andย platforms,ย and the assessment of resource allocation.ย 

  • Ensure open communication loops between candidates, staff, and partners.ย 

Qualificationsย 

  • 4โ€“6 years of experience in political campaigns, political data/analytics, advocacy organizations, or electoral strategy.ย 

  • Strong understanding of U.S. electoral systems, political dynamics, and campaign operations.ย 

  • Demonstrated experience with political research, data analysis, or voter file tools (Airtable, etc.).ย 

  • Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce clear political briefs, memos, and analyses.ย 

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at managing multiple priorities.ย 

  • Strong relationship-building abilities and comfort working with candidates and senior stakeholders.ย 

  • Commitment to advancing representation and supporting candidates from historically underrepresented communities.ย
