• Conduct in-depth psychiatric evaluations in community settings alongside law enforcement to assess the immediate mental health needs for individuals possibly requiring involuntary detention.
• Provide short-term crisis counseling to non-violent patients experiencing acute mental health episodes, using evidence-based techniques to mitigate distress.
• Collaborate with police officers during mental health-related responses, providing assistance to ensure a safe and supportive environment for all involved.
• Facilitate the transport of individuals needing mental health support to hospitals or mental health facilities, ensuring transitions are smooth and compassionate.
• Develop training programs for police staff on mental health crisis intervention, focusing on de-escalation techniques and reducing reliance on force.
• Maintain meticulous, confidential records of patient assessments and interactions, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and organizational policies.
• Communicate effectively with law enforcement, Crisis Stabilization Units (CSUs), hospital staff, and psychiatrists to coordinate care and ensure continuity of support.

Your role will encompass a diverse patient population, including individuals who have recently been arrested and are experiencing mental health crises, as well as community members in need of immediate mental health support. By addressing the specific needs of these populations, you will contribute significantly to their recovery and well-being, helping to break the cycle of mental health crises.

• Must hold a valid Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) license in California.
• Completion of a Bachelor's degree, with a focus or interest in mental health or counseling preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is required.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
• Professionalism with a positive attitude, along with the ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
• Strong attention to detail, with the capability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• A background in crisis intervention, with emphasis on psychiatric experience is highly desirable.
• Prior experience working in collaboration with law enforcement or in community health settings can enhance application prospects.
