Designs, develops, and implements enterprise HR technology solutions within the Workday ecosystem while serving as a trusted technical advisor to business and technology partners on integrations, automation, and platform capabilities.
The role is responsible for Workday technical administration, Workday Extend application development, Integrations, Reporting, and automation, including Cloud Connect, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Studio, Workday Orchestrate, and managing workday AI agents via ASOR.
This position requires a modern developer mindset with strong AI literacy, enabling the evaluation and implementation of intelligent automation and AI-powered solutions. The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise with a user-first mindset, creating Workday Extend applications that are intuitive, visually polished, and thoughtfully designed to drive adoption and improve business outcomes.
The successful candidate will stay current with the Workday Developer Site, emerging platform capabilities, AI innovations, and developer best practices to continuously improve business solutions and user experiences.
Essential Functions
  • Design, implement, support, and continuously improve the global Workday platform from a technical and integration perspective, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance automation, reliability, and user experience.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain custom integrations using Workday Web Services, Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), Workday Studio, and Cloud Connect.
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise applications using Workday Extend.
  • Build and maintain Workday Orchestrations to automate complex business processes across Workday and external systems.
  • Configure, register, manage, and govern Workday AI Agents using Agent System of Record (ASOR) while ensuring appropriate security and lifecycle management.
  • Reimagine HR business processes by identifying opportunities to eliminate manual work through AI, orchestration, intelligent automation and digital agents - evolving the experience and driving efficiencies.
  • Maintain Workday Security and related technical documentation for global use.
  • Prepare migration packages and deployments for Sandbox, Preview, and Production environments.
  • Develop complex reports using the Workday Reporting Platform, Workday Prism, Report Designer, and Calculated Fields.
  • Write high-quality, scalable, maintainable, and well-documented code following established development standards.
  • Test, debug, troubleshoot, and optimize applications, integrations, and technical solutions.
  • Schedule integrations and reports, configure monitoring, and establish automated notifications for failures and operational events.
  • Demonstrate AI literacy by identifying opportunities to responsibly leverage AI technologies to improve business outcomes and developer productivity.
  • Utilize the Workday Developer Site to stay current on APIs, SDKs, developer tools, sample applications, release features, and implementation best practices.
  • Evaluate emerging Workday platform capabilities and recommend technical improvements and innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with HR, Payroll, IT, and other business stakeholders to translate business requirements into elegant technical solutions.
  • Actively contribute to the development, maintenance, and continuous improvement of technical documentation, knowledge bases, and FAQ repositories.
  • Stay current with new Workday releases, AI innovations, Extend capabilities, Orchestrate enhancements, and industry best practices.

  • Strong object-oriented programming experience with XML, XSLT, XPath, REST APIs, SOAP Web Services, and JSON.
  • Experience with application lifecycle management, source control, deployment best practices, and release management.
  • Knowledge of UX/UI design principles with the ability to visualize intuitive workflows before development.
  • Demonstrated ability to approach development through an artistic lens, producing visually engaging, accessible, user-centric solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

Typical Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Licenses or Certificates
  • Workday certifications in Integrations, Extend, Reporting, Studio, or other relevant Workday technologies are preferred.
  • AI, cloud, or software development certifications are considered a plus.

Typical Range of Experience
  • 7+ years of Workday HRIS technical experience is highly preferred.

Pay Range: $97,725.00 - $162,875.00 Annually
This hiring range is a reasonable estimate of the base pay range for this position at the time of posting. Pay is based on a number of factors which may include job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location.
