What is a Remote Photo Editing job?

A Remote Photo Editing job involves editing, retouching, and enhancing images using software like Photoshop or Lightroom while working from home or another remote location. Editors may adjust colors, remove imperfections, manipulate backgrounds, or enhance resolution based on client needs. This role is common in industries such as photography, e-commerce, marketing, and social media. Remote editors communicate with clients or teams online to receive instructions and deliver final images. Strong attention to detail and proficiency in editing tools are essential for success in this field.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Remote Photo Editing position, and why are they important?

Success in Remote Photo Editing requires advanced proficiency in photo manipulation, color correction, retouching, and a keen eye for visual detail, often supported by training or experience in photography or digital design. Knowledge of industry-standard editing software like Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and sometimes specialized plug-ins or digital asset management systems is crucial. Strong time-management, communication, and self-motivation are key soft skills for managing remote workflows and meeting client expectations. These abilities enable editors to consistently deliver high-quality visuals, adhere to deadlines, and collaborate effectively with clients and creative teams from afar.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of a remote photo editor?

As a remote photo editor, your daily tasks often include receiving and organizing batches of images, performing color correction, retouching, background removal, and applying stylistic enhancements based on client or project specifications. You may also need to communicate regularly with photographers, clients, or art directors through email or team platforms to clarify project goals and revisions. Meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously is common, so strong organizational skills are essential. Additionally, you’ll likely submit final edits through digital asset management tools or cloud-based file sharing systems, ensuring seamless file delivery and record-keeping. This role offers a dynamic workflow and the opportunity to refine your technical skills in a flexible, remote setting.

Job description

About Parallel Fragrances

Parallel Fragrances is a fast-growing fragrance brand that makes high-quality, oil-based scents that deliver designer-level experiences at an accessible price. We've scaled from a startup to a multi-six-figure business in under two years, driven almost entirely by short-form content and an engaged TikTok community. We're now expanding our presence with dedicated brand accounts.

The Role

We're looking for a Social Media Account Lead to own our subaccount on TikTok account end-to-end. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role: you'll set the content direction, post daily, source and create the videos that go up, manage the community, and grow the account into a meaningful brand and acquisition channel. You live on TikTok, you understand why things go viral, and you can turn a bottle on a shelf into content people actually want to watch.

What You'll Do

  • Own the content calendar. Plan, schedule, and maintain a consistent daily posting cadence for the TikTok account.
  • Post daily. Publish at least one video per day (sometimes more), optimized for hooks, retention, and the TikTok algorithm.
  • Source and create content. Film review videos and edit short-form video in-house, repurpose and remix existing footage, coordinate UGC, and pull in creator content — whatever it takes to keep the pipeline full.
  • Ride trends. Monitor trending sounds, formats, and topics daily and adapt them to the brand quickly.
  • Manage the community. Respond to comments and DMs, spark conversation, and build a loyal following.
  • Track and report performance. Monitor views, engagement, follower growth, and TikTok Shop conversion; share weekly learnings and double down on what works.
  • Collaborate. Work alongside our paid, affiliate/creator, and broader marketing efforts so the account reinforces the wider strategy.
  • Support TikTok Lives and other real-time content as the account grows.

What You Bring

  • 2+ years experience with scaling a brand or creator TikTok account with demonstrable growth (please share handles you've worked on).
  • Strong short-form video instincts — you know what makes someone stop scrolling.
  • Hands-on content creation and editing skills (CapCut, Premiere, or similar).
  • Ability to identify hooks and create intriguing captions.
  • Comfort reading analytics and turning numbers into next steps.
  • Organized, self-directed, and able to work in a fast-paced work environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with TikTok Shop and content that converts to sales.
  • Familiarity in beauty, fragrance, or DTC e-commerce.
  • Comfort on camera and/or an existing network of creators.
  • Videography, graphic design, or photo-editing skills is highly encouraged.

  • Reports to: Head of Marketing
