In this role, you will have a direct impact on project success, client confidence, and the safety of people working on active construction sites. We believe no job is so important and no work is so urgent that we cannot take time to perform our work safely.
If you are looking for a role where you can combine field safety experience, practical problem solving, and project team partnership, this may be a strong fit. You will join a collaborative, values-based culture that supports professional growth, continuous improvement, and meaningful project work. This role offers the opportunity to help shape contractor safety practices across design-build projects and contribute to a safety culture that protects our members, clients, contractors, and communities.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create, maintain, and improve contractor safety management programs, tools, training materials, and related standard work
  • Develop and maintain contractor and design-build safety performance metrics and KPIs
  • Maintain a list of active design-build projects and coordinate with project managers to establish a site visit schedule
  • Conduct construction site safety visits, audits, and observations based on project needs and risk
  • Prepare site safety visit reports and partner with project managers, construction managers, and contractors to document and resolve action items
  • Deliver initial contractor safety training for construction managers and provide ongoing safety support to construction managers and project managers
  • Develop and distribute weekly safety focus topics for construction managers
  • Identify additional safety training, communication, and process improvement opportunities for project teams
  • Assist project managers with the creation and maintenance of project-specific safety plans
  • Lead or support investigations for contractor safety incidents, including documentation, corrective actions, and follow-up
  • Establish requirements for site safety representatives and help maintain a pool of qualified resources to support projects
  • Interview, onboard, and provide remote support to site safety representatives as project needs arise
  • Assist procurement and project teams with contractor safety qualification questions
  • Monitor and support compliance with applicable OSHA federal and state construction safety requirements
  • Assist with regulatory inspections, inquiries, or related proceedings as needed

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Construction Management, Engineering, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related field
  • 5+ years of construction safety experience supporting contractor safety programs on construction, industrial, infrastructure, or design-build projects
  • Experience conducting construction site safety inspections, audits, observations, or field safety reviews
  • Experience preparing written safety reports, documenting corrective actions, and following up with project teams or contractors
  • Experience supporting or conducting safety incident investigations
  • Working knowledge of OSHA construction safety requirements

Preferred Qualifications
  • CHST, CSP, ASP, OSHA 500, OSHA 510, or related safety certification
  • Experience supporting design-build, EPC, construction management, or industrial construction projects
  • Experience developing safety programs, training materials, safety bulletins, and field safety tools
  • Experience developing and supporting project-specific safety plans
  • Experience with contractor qualifications, third-party safety systems, and client safety pre-qualification requirements
  • Experience tracking safety performance metrics such as TRIR, DART, incident rates, corrective actions, or audit findings

Working Conditions and Travel
  • This role requires, at times, up to 50-75% travel to active project sites based on project needs and site visit schedules
  • Work may include visits to active construction sites where personal protective equipment and adherence to site-specific safety requirements are required

$90,000 - $130,000 a year
