This position can be based from any of our Northeast offices such as; Richmond, VA, Pittsburgh, PA, Philadelphia, PA, Blue Bell, PA, Bedford, NH, Huntington, WV, Wilmington, NC, Raleigh, NC or any of our other U.S offices. The flexibility to work a hybrid schedule or fully remote from your home-office is available at the discretion of the Company.   • Serve as a siting and environmental permitting subject matter expert.
  • Work with clients for public involvement programs; attend and participate in open houses, public meetings, and public hearings.
  • Managing and directing routing/siting studies, analyses, and associated reports and state filings.
  • Work collaboratively across the firm with multi-disciplinary teams which could include engineers, attorneys, planners, permitting and environmental specialists, and real estate experts.
  • Mentor staff to support their growth and professional development.
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Environmental Science, Natural Sciences, Civil Engineering, Ecology, Planning, or Geospatial Analysis (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same (preferred)

  • At least 5 years (7+ preferred) of direct experience managing environmental permitting and planning projects, for a variety of energy-related projects; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Detailed understanding of Virginia State Corporation Commission application processes for electric transmission lines (preferred), North Carolina Public Utilities Commission, Ohio Power Siting Board, or Kentucky Public Utilities Commission.
  • Positive relationships with siting/routing or permitting specialists in utility organizations. (preferred)
  • Experience with public witness testimony and contract negotiations (preferred)
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, strong written and verbal communication skills; Excellent leadership skills. (required)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driverโ€™s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
