• Conduct individual and group therapy sessions using evidence-based practices tailored to the unique needs of each client.
• Develop and monitor personalized treatment plans to assess client progress and adjust therapeutic interventions as needed.
• Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team of mental health specialists, including social workers, psychiatrists, and other healthcare providers to create coherent intervention strategies.
• Provide essential support to family members and primary caregivers in understanding and managing behavioral challenges and mental health issues.
• Handle follow-up communications with physicians for clients who may require hospitalization, ensuring a seamless transition between care settings.
• Identify potential obstacles to recovery and implement proactive measures to mitigate such issues.

You will work with a varied and vibrant client population at Freedom Psychotherapy Services, including adolescents, adults, and families encountering challenges such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues. Your role will be instrumental in supporting clients with tailored therapeutic approaches, fostering resilience, and promoting mental wellness within the community.

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required; a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling or a similar discipline is strongly preferred.
• Possession of a valid LMHC license in the state of New York.
• Robust understanding of mental health practices and treatment modalities, complemented by relevant training and certifications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective engagement with clients, families, and team members.
• Demonstrated capacity for empathy, patience, and active listening in a counseling setting.

• Prior experience in a mental health counseling role or a related field is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of psychopharmacology and an understanding of the impact of various medications on mental health will be beneficial.
• Previous experience collaborating in a multidisciplinary team environment, with a focus on patient-centered care.
