Ouachita Mental Peer Support Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team. As a remote mental health provider, you will have the flexibility of working from home while still being an integral part of our collaborative team. Our outpatient office setting supports a strong team approach, ensuring access to resources and ongoing support from colleagues and supervisors. You will utilize telehealth technology to conduct sessions efficiently, allowing you to connect meaningfully with clients wherever they are located.

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for seniors, identifying their emotional needs and care requirements.
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, providing evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help clients navigate the emotional complexities of aging and life changes.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement personalized care plans that address the specific emotional and mental health challenges faced by elderly clients.
• Educate family members and caregivers on effective strategies to support the emotional well-being of older adults, fostering an environment of understanding and compassion.
• Provide grief and loss counseling for clients and their families dealing with end-of-life issues and bereavement.
• Implement cognitive stimulation programs and therapeutic modalities aimed at improving and maintaining mental sharpness and emotional resilience among the elderly.

This role primarily focuses on seniors who may be facing challenges related to aging, such as loneliness, depression, anxiety, and loss. You will be instrumental in helping clients overcome feelings of isolation and navigate the grieving process, making a tangible difference in their lives by providing support and understanding.

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling or a related field from an accredited institution.
• A valid and current Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license in New York State.
• Minimum of four years of recent experience in psychiatric counseling, particularly with older adults and mental health issues.

• Additional training or specialization in geriatric mental health and addiction counseling is highly desirable.
• Demonstrated expertise in evidence-based practices for elderly populations, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and supportive therapy modalities.
• Experience with telehealth systems and electronic medical records (EMR) to effectively manage patient care and documentation is an advantage.

This position offers a competitive salary ranging from USD 90,000 to 105,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, you will be eligible for a sign-on bonus.
