Your Impact

As a Global Benefits Specialist, you are the caring and confident specialist that manages benefits and leave programs for our team members. Benefits enhance the employee experience and can either be a source of friction or provide life support to our busy team members. If this role is done well, employees are informed of their options and feel the company cares about their well-being. While primarily focusing onUS benefits and Leave Administration, there is an opportunity to shape our international benefits landscape, ensuring equity across countries and Employer of Record (EOR) entities.

What You Will Do

Be the Resident Expert:

  • Lead the annual benefits design and open enrollment process and informational sessions
  • Assesses current benefit programs, market, and cultural trends, legislative, tax and social changes that impact company programs to make plan roadmap recommendations.
  • Benchmark benefits globally to ensure equity across the countries and EORs
  • Manage the leave of absence process and partner with People Leaders and HR Operations when evaluating employee's return-to-work needs
  • Provide Responsive & Caring Team Member Support
  • Serve as the tier two escalation point for employee or manager inquiries via email or Slack, Zoom
  • Support new hires during onboarding and sharing info in New Hire Benefits Orientation sessions
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to develop Benefit communication materials that are informative and easy to understand

Manage Compliance

  • Assist with maintaining Benefit integration files between the Benefit enrollment site, Bob (our HRIS), and Benefits carriers
  • Monitor benefit programs to ensure adherence to internal policies and external legislation including compliance of all regional and country legislation.
  • Administer the details
  • Reconcile Benefit vendor invoices with internal enrollment records and submit to accounting for payment; Support the Benefits audit process with Payroll each pay period;

Work as a Team

  • Support HR Operations & HR Business Partners with all Benefits topics
  • Collaborate with Payroll and Finance to ensure billing and payroll deductions are handled timely and accurately

What You Bring

  • A caring and empathetic approach to employee wellbeing
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in a cross-cultural worldwide environment and to convey complex benefits information in a manner that is clear and easy to understand.
  • Minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in HR , particularly related to Benefits, Compensation, Retirement plans, and Leave Administration
  • Knowledge of multi-state state (CA required) and federal laws: DOL, FLSA, ERISA, EEO,HIPAA, Affirmative Action, COBRA and ACA
  • Knowledge of Leave Laws, e, US Federal, State, and local laws, and best practices required,knowledge of global leave laws, especially European is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to international benefit programs in Europe, preferably the UK, or a very strong desire and motivation to learn
  • International living or working experience is highly preferred
