Become a Larkie!!!
At Lark Hospitality, we don't just manage hotels; we curate experiences. We're a collective of high-design properties across the U.S., each with its own soul. We're looking for a dedicated Payroll Specialist based in the U.S. You'll join the Human Resources Department as part of our high-impact payroll team, where your precision ensures our people are taken care of, so they can take care of our guests.
Lark is North America's leading hospitality management company with a portfolio of five self-managed brands, representing nearly 70 hotels and 33 restaurants across 27 states and 2 countries. At Lark, we are deeply committed to creating meaningful experiences by offering personalized and authentic hospitality while fostering an environment of warmth, energy, and collaboration. We believe in supporting and developing our team members, celebrating their contributions, and nurturing growth opportunities. Lark values honesty, transparency, and long-term relationships with both our team and business partners. We are passionate about service, making each guest's experience unforgettable while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
The Role
You will support our hotel General Managers by auditing, optimizing, and handling the final submission of payroll for approximately 25 to 30 of our U.S. properties. You will be an expert at navigating U.S. multi-state wage and hour compliance.
As a master of our UKG Pro and UKG WFM platforms, you will be the primary point of contact and proactive communicator for our hotel General Managers, collaborating directly with them to ensure weekly payroll is successfully, accurately, and efficiently processed.
Your Impact
  • The Weekly Beat: Audit, process, and execute 25-30 U.S. payrolls with a "zero-variance" mindset. You'll partner directly with General Managers to navigate the nuances of coast-to-coast labor laws and wage/hour compliance (e.g., California meal breaks, overtime rules).
  • Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and optimize our payroll workflows within UKG Pro and UKG WFM to ensure maximum efficiency, accuracy, and ease of use for our field teams.
  • Operational Integrity: Ensure every hour worked is accounted for correctly. You will manage payroll processing spreadsheets, verify hours, and keep credentials secure via 1Password.

Who You Are
    • The Expert: You have at least 2+ years of dedicated U.S. Multi-State Payroll processing experience, with a strong foundation in complex wage and hour compliance.

  • Hospitality Expert: You understand our industry, the ins/outs of paying hotel employees, and you speak our hotel General Manager's language.

  • The UKG Specialist: Hands-on experience with UKG Pro and UKG WFM is required. You know how to leverage these platforms to streamline payroll workflows.
  • It's all in the Details: You have a "zero-error" approach. You see the story behind the data and can reconcile complex sets of hours across multiple states and properties with ease.
  • The Communicator: You excel at proactively communicating and building strong partnerships with General Managers, Operations, and Human Resources teams.
  • The Flex Professional: You thrive in a dynamic environment and love the perk of a 4-day work week, bringing the flexibility needed to adjust those four 10-hour days based on weekly business needs.
  • You are legally authorized to work in the United States and thrive in a 100% remote environment.

The Perks
  • Flexibility: A full-time, 4 days x 10 hours schedule that gives you the flexibility you need.
  • Remote Work: 100% remote work within the U.S.
  • The Guest Experience: Travel perks across the Lark Hospitality portfolio.
  • The Team: A seat at the table in a collaborative HR department where your work is seen, felt, and celebrated.

Physical & Mental Requirements
  • The Digital Workspace: This is a 100% remote role. You must be comfortable spending the majority of your workday at a desk, utilizing a computer and dual monitors for deep-focus auditing and data entry.
  • Mental Agility: The role requires a high level of cognitive endurance. You will frequently switch between complex tasks-such as auditing multiple property timecards-while maintaining a "zero-error" standard under tight processing deadlines.
  • Communication Ability: You will participate in regular video calls and phone consultations with General Managers and other departments across various time zones, requiring a professional presence and clear communication.
  • Schedule Fluidity: You must have the operational flexibility to adjust your 4-day working schedule week-to-week to accommodate changing business demands and processing timelines.
  • Environment: You are responsible for maintaining a dedicated, quiet home office space with reliable high-speed internet to ensure the security and confidentiality of sensitive payroll data.
