Job description

Description
Job Purpose: Denova Collaborative Health is seeking a Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our revenue cycle team. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on people leader who enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and using data to drive meaningful results. You will oversee Payment Posting, Accounts Receivable and Collections, and Denial Management through three functional leads, helping the team consistently meet productivity, quality, and financial goals.
In this role, you will work in a high-volume environment supporting approximately 40,000 encounters and transactions each month and approximately $60 million in annual revenue. You will turn operational and financial data into clear priorities, strengthen workflows, and partner across the organization to improve the patient and revenue cycle experience.
This role reports directly to the Director of Revenue Cycle Management.
What You Will Do:
Lead and Develop Your Team
  • Directly manage, coach, and develop three functional leads across Payment Posting, Accounts Receivable and Collections, and Denial Management.
  • Create clear expectations and accountability while empowering your leads to coach and manage their teams effectively.
  • Support performance reviews, recognition, career development, corrective action, timekeeping, payroll review, and department coverage.
  • Build a positive, professional team culture grounded in communication, consistency, and continuous improvement.

Own Revenue Cycle Operations
  • Oversee daily operations across Payment Posting, Accounts Receivable and Collections, and Denial Management.
  • Balance workload, staffing, and priorities to meet turnaround, productivity, and quality expectations in a high-volume environment.
  • Ensure consistent use of standard operating procedures and help improve workflows as business needs evolve.
  • Serve as a steady point of escalation for operational issues and help remove barriers that impact team performance.

Turn Data Into Action
  • Own key performance indicators for your areas and hold functional leads accountable to established targets.
  • Monitor both leading and lagging indicators so you can identify concerns early and take action before results slip.
  • Interpret operational and financial data, identify trends and root causes, and translate findings into clear, prioritized action plans.
  • Build and maintain reports and dashboards, and communicate performance trends and recommendations to leadership.

Improve Processes and Performance
  • Use revenue cycle best practices and benchmarks to identify gaps, set meaningful targets, and measure progress.
  • Partner with the Business Systems Support Manager on system configuration, EDI, coding, and workflow issues that affect operations.
  • Support process improvements that strengthen efficiency, accuracy, collections, denial resolution, and overall revenue cycle performance.

Partner Across the Organization
  • Collaborate with Finance, Clinical, Compliance, Operations, and other cross-functional partners to resolve issues and strengthen workflows.
  • Prepare clear, professional reports, presentations, and written communication for staff, peers, and leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What We Need From You:
  • 4+ years of revenue cycle experience across accounts receivable, denials, and payment posting.
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience, such as supervising a team, lead, or function, with readiness to manage at the next level.
  • Strong working knowledge of the full revenue cycle, from front end through back end, and how each function connects.
  • Working knowledge of Medicaid managed care and AHCCCS, Medicare, and commercial payer requirements.
  • Strong understanding of revenue cycle KPIs and industry benchmarks, with the ability to turn data into measurable operational improvement.
  • Strong communication, coaching, team-building, and professional presentation skills.
  • Experience with practice management systems, clearinghouses, and reporting/data tools.
  • Behavioral health, integrated care, or multi-specialty experience is a plus.
  • Experience with AdvancedMD, Waystar, Phreesia, Power BI, or Excel is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.

Your Work Schedule:
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (flexible based on business needs).
  • Location: Denova Collaborative Health LLC - DHQ, Phoenix, Arizona.
  • Hybrid schedule: three days onsite, with remote work on Mondays and Fridays.

Perks of Being Part of Denova:
  • Comprehensive low-cost medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with a company match.
  • Health savings and flexible spending accounts, including dependent care.
  • Company-paid holidays, paid time off, and life insurance.
  • Short- and long-term disability coverage.
  • Employee Assistance Program with legal, financial, and family support resources.
  • Employee wellness program and team member discounts.
  • Professional development support and opportunities to grow your career.
