Common Lives Project
The Common Lives Project is a groundbreaking initiative designed to collect real-world video data of everyday routines to help improve AI models in human activity recognition and understanding. As a Packer and Packager, you'll play a key role by wearing a GoPro camera to record your standard work. Your contributions will directly support the development of more perceptive, human-centered AI systems.
Responsibilities
Wear a head-mounted GoPro camera to capture daily activities for 5 days within a 2-week period (7 hours/day with breaks) or for 3-4 hours per day over 3-4 weeks.
Record activities related to your standard work in controlled or outdoor environments.
Review, upload, and manage video clips via a secure platform after each recording session.
Ensure all household members provide consent to appear in the footage.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data privacy guidelines when handling video content.
Who Can Apply
Adults (18+) residing in the United States.
Engaged in packing, packaging, or related manual labor professions (e.g., hand packers, packaging technicians, assembly line packagers, warehouse packers, product packagers, shipping and receiving clerks).
Have access to a private, self-contained indoor space for video recording.
Comfortable with basic computer tasks for video uploading and reviewing clips.
Self‐employed or have employer consent to record in your work environment.
