McClatchy, a leader in local media, is seeking a strategic and results-oriented Account Executive to represent the the Miami Herald & el Nuevo Herald.  For over a century, these publications have been the primary source of news and information for South Florida. Today, we pair that legacy of trust with a sophisticated, data-driven digital marketing suite that allows our clients to reach audiences with precision and impact.

Our mission has never been more vital. As a successful candidate, you will be the bridge between our first-class digital portfolio and the thriving South Florida market—leveraging award-winning journalism, data, and innovation to drive measurable revenue growth.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Strategic Business Development: Adopt a "Hunter" mentality to identify, qualify, and secure new B2B partnerships throughout the Florida market.
  • Consultative Selling: Conduct deep-dive Client Impact Assessments to understand unique business pain points and design multi-platform marketing solutions.
  • Solution Engineering: Develop and deliver compelling marketing strategies utilizing McClatchy’s full suite of products, including SEO/SEM, Targeted Email, Social Media, Mobile Platforms, OTT, and Branded Content.
  • Relationship Management: Build long-term, trust-based partnerships with clients, aligning their marketing spend with established strategic objectives and KPIs.
  • Operational Excellence: Maintain rigorous pipeline management and accurate records of sales activities and revenue forecasts using HubSpot or related CRM tools.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
  • Industry Knowledge: Proven experience working with clients and creating multi-media strategies providing ROI.
  • Digital Fluency: A strong background in digital marketing and advertising, with a proven track record of selling custom solutions (Programmatic, Social, Search, etc.).
  • Sales Excellence: Demonstrated ability in strategic prospecting, planning, and closing business through a persuasive yet compassionate approach.
  • Agility & Collaboration: The ability to pivot quickly in a fast-paced media environment without losing quality, while collaborating constructively in a team-oriented setting.
  • Communication: Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to earn client trust and deliver complex strategies effectively.
Requirements
  • Education: A combination of knowledge and experience equivalent to a B.A. or B.S. Degree in Advertising, Marketing, Sales, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in CRM tools (Adpoint preferred) and standard business software; daily CRM use is required.
  • Logistics: Must be located in Florida, with a preference to Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area. A valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and valid vehicle insurance are required for local travel.
