The Role: Data Center MEP Field Manager

As a Data Center MEP Field Manager, you lead all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection construction activities on-site for data center projects. You are accountable for safe execution, quality installation, and coordination across trades to deliver reliable, mission-critical infrastructure.

You serve as the field subject matter expert for MEP systems, resolving constructability and sequencing issues in real time. Your work directly impacts schedule performance, system reliability, and successful project turnover.

What You’ll Do
  • Oversee daily on-site MEP construction activities to ensure alignment with drawings, specifications, and schedule milestones.

  • Coordinate mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection subcontractors to prevent conflicts and ensure system integration.

  • Enforce site safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and project safety plans.

  • Review MEP drawings, submittals, and shop drawings for constructability and field accuracy.

  • Resolve field design issues in partnership with engineering and project management teams.

  • Develop and maintain MEP-specific schedules aligned with the overall project timeline.

  • Track progress against milestones and escalate risks to schedule or quality.

  • Oversee testing, balancing, and commissioning activities to confirm systems perform as designed.

  • Ensure quality control documentation, inspections, and sign-offs are complete and accurate.

  • Provide clear daily and weekly updates on MEP progress, risks, and field conditions.

  • Support turnover and commissioning meetings to ensure successful project closeout.

What We’re Looking For
  • You operate with strong safety discipline and hold others accountable to site standards.

  • You communicate clearly when issues affect schedule or quality.

  • You make sound field decisions and escalate risks early.

  • You coordinate across trades without creating confusion or delay.

  • You stay organized in complex, high-activity construction environments.

  • You take ownership of outcomes and follow through to completion.

  • You focus on practical solutions that keep work moving safely.

What You’ll Bring

Required

  • 7–10 years of experience supporting or leading MEP systems installation on large commercial or mission-critical construction projects.

  • Strong working knowledge of data center MEP systems, including UPS, CRAC or CRAH units, chillers, BMS, and fire suppression systems.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.

  • Experience coordinating subcontractors in active construction environments.

  • OSHA 30 certification.

Preferred

  • Experience working on data center or mission-critical facilities.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or equivalent field experience.

  • Familiarity with Uptime Institute, NFPA, ASHRAE, and NEC standards.

  • Experience using Procore, Bluebeam, P6, or similar construction management tools.

If you meet most of these qualifications, we encourage you to apply.
