TruRoots is seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Finance and Accounting team. The potential candidate will report to the Director of Finance & Accounting with a focus on FP&A as well as provide support throughout the organization including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Sales, and other functional departments as needed. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, results oriented, and demonstrate strong analytical skills. This position is remote based out of Woodbury, MN with the option of meeting at the Woodbury office as needed. Travel is required 1 to 2 times per quarter. 

In This Role:    

  • Conduct financial analysis to support business planning and decision making by presenting insights and recommendations to management. 

  • Develop and manage standard costs for new and existing items. 

  • Complete month-end close tasks, including monthly financial reports for the Executive Leadership Team and various Business Units. 

  • Assist with procurement analysis and related projects including but not limited to spend analysis. 

  • Partner with Logistics department to provide an in-depth financial analysis of actual spend on transportation costs. 

  • Assist with Product and Customer P&Ls, assessing their profitability. 

  • Evaluate and analyze capital expenditures, manufacturing, and continuous improvement projects. 

  • Participate in preparing and compiling annual budgeting and multi-year planning processes for assigned categories of the P&L. 

  • Utilize enterprise systems to consolidate data from various systems. 

  • Perform ad-hoc financial and variance analysis upon request. 

Qualifications: 

  • Strong Excel skills with experience in preparing financial reporting, analyzing financial data. 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and working experience with an ERP system. 

  • Cost accounting experience and knowledge of standard costing is preferred. 

  • Excellent organization, analytical and problem-solving skills. 

  • Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and accuracy. 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in financial analysis, experience in manufacturing industry is strongly preferred. 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field (or can demonstrate experience in relevant areas). 

  • Ability to work in a results-oriented, project-driven, real-time team environment. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams. 

  • Food and beverage industry experience and manufacturing facility oversight preferred 

  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
