SunMED Medical is seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused professional to join our growing team as a Full-Time Remote Customer Service Representative. If you enjoy helping people, solving problems, and working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, we'd love to hear from you.

In this role, you'll serve as a key point of contact for patients, healthcare providers, and referral sources, helping ensure medical equipment orders are processed accurately and efficiently while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

What You'll Do

Order Management & Coordination

  • Process referrals and manage orders through our Brightree order management system from intake through billing readiness.
  • Review orders for completeness and compliance with insurance and departmental guidelines.
  • Contact providers to obtain missing or incomplete clinical documentation required for order processing.
  • Create purchase orders and submit them to manufacturers via email, fax, or online portals.

Customer Service & Patient Support

  • Provide outstanding service to patients, referral sources, providers, and business partners.
  • Educate customers about Durable Medical Equipment (DME) products and services.
  • Communicate insurance coverage details and explain any potential out-of-pocket expenses to patients.
  • Respond to inquiries professionally and efficiently while maintaining a high level of empathy and care.

Relationship Building

  • Communicate effectively with patients, therapists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with referral sources and healthcare partners.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Previous customer service experience, either over the phone or in a face-to-face setting.
  • Comfortable discussing insurance coverage, benefits, and financial responsibility with patients.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a sense of urgency when addressing customer needs.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new processes and technologies.

Technical Skills

  • Excellent computer proficiency, including experience working remotely through networked systems and remote access tools.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Teams.
  • More than basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

Preferred Qualifications
