Senior Oracle Cloud Payroll Functional Lead
Job Summary
Next Generation, Inc., an Equal Opportunity Employer, is seeking a Senior Oracle Cloud Payroll Functional Lead to join our team. This hybrid position requires 60-70% onsite work in Nashville, with the remainder remote.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned Payroll Functional Analyst / Solution Architect with deep expertise in Oracle Cloud Payroll for both U.S. and Canadian payroll. This role requires demonstrated leadership across multiple full-cycle implementations, strong functional knowledge of payroll processes and integrations, and the ability to guide clients through complex payroll transformations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end functional design and delivery for Oracle Cloud Payroll implementations.
  • Serve as the primary Payroll Functional Lead across project workstreams, ensuring alignment of functional requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Conduct workshops with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
  • Provide expertise in U.S. and Canadian payroll, including compliance, calculations, and payroll processing.
  • Write Fast Formulas when needed to support payroll rules, validations, and calculations.
  • Direct and guide data migration and integration activities, with the ability to understand how systems work together (coding not required).
  • Collaborate with technical teams to validate functional design, integrations, and customizations.
  • Conduct system testing, troubleshoot payroll issues, and support go-live and post-production activities.
  • Provide end-user training and support change management efforts.
  • Deliver high-quality documentation and maintain project governance standards.

Job Requirements
  • Minimum 7+ years of experience with Oracle Cloud HCM Payroll.
  • Expertise in both U.S. and Canadian payroll operations and compliance.
  • Experience writing Fast Formulas for payroll logic.
  • Strong understanding of data migration and system integrations (functional oversight, not coding).
  • Must have participated in 5+ Oracle Cloud Payroll engagements, including at least 2 as the Payroll Functional Lead.
  • Experience in transportation and logistics industries preferred, but not required.
  • Strong ability to lead client workshops, manage stakeholders, and communicate complex concepts clearly.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Finance, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Willingness to work onsite in Nashville 60-70% of the time.
  • No public-sector experience needed; private-sector expertise preferred.
