This full-time position offers a flexible work environment, primarily conducted remotely, within a tailored framework suited for school counseling. While your primary office will be virtual, you will engage with students, parents, and school personnel, ensuring that emotional support is seamlessly integrated into the school community. • Conduct detailed and comprehensive assessments of students’ mental health needs through interviews, standardized tools, and observational methods to shape personalized treatment plans.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, and solution-focused therapy to provide effective interventions for individual, group, and family therapy sessions.
• Participate in regular consultations with school staff, including case managers and educational psychologists, to coordinate care and strategic interventions for students requiring additional support.
• Act decisively to manage crisis situations by offering immediate interventions and support, whether through teletherapy or other accessible means, demonstrating both expertise and empathy.
• Engage actively in outreach programs to educate staff and students about mental health resources, promote awareness, and reduce the stigma associated with seeking help.

This role will involve working primarily with children and adolescents, navigating the complexities of their social and emotional challenges within the educational setting. You will be responsible for fostering a safe space where young individuals can express themselves, addressing issues related to anxiety, depression, behavioral concerns, and familial dynamics. Exposure to a diverse population, including students from various ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds, will enhance your cultural competence and therapeutic skills.

• A current and independent license to practice, such as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
• A master’s or doctorate degree in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Counseling, or a related field.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to create rapport and therapeutic alliances with students and families.
• Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and the capability to interact effectively with a diverse student population.
• Superior time management and organizational skills, evidenced by accurate documentation and adherence to clinical standards.

• Experience in a school setting or working with youth populations is highly favorable.
• Familiarity with educational systems and frameworks that influence student behavior and mental health.
• Experience with telehealth platforms and digital documentation systems is beneficial, as this role primarily supports remote counseling initiatives.
