Job description

The Vice President of Marketing is accountable for all marketing activities and overall performance, working in close partnership with key stakeholders across the organization. Salary: $220,000-$240,000

Location: Remote

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Commercial Strategy & Revenue Growth

  • Develop and lead marketing strategies that support each of BluSky's growth engines, including Branch Sales, Strategic Accounts, Insurance Services, and Residential Sales, recognizing the distinct requirements of each.
  • Drive vertical and industry expansion along with both national and local market activation to open and accelerate new sources of growth.
  • Develop and execute a long-term marketing strategy aligned with business objectives and growth targets.
  • Own marketing's contribution to organic revenue growth and partner with the CRO and sales leadership to convert market opportunity into pipeline and revenue.

Marketing Strategy & Leadership

  • Define and manage the marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources for maximum ROI.
  • Drive brand positioning and differentiation strategies to strengthen market presence, and ensure consistent messaging across all channels.
  • Ensure deeper integration between marketing and sales efforts to optimize pipeline development and revenue impact, defining the shared operating model, service levels, and hand-offs between the two teams.

Demand Generation, Enterprise & Local Activation

  • Develop digital marketing initiatives to generate top-of-funnel leads and improve conversion rates.
  • Oversee SEO, SEM, website optimization, marketing automation, and online campaigns.
  • Manage trade shows, conferences, and event marketing to maximize ROI, and measure event-generated pipeline and revenue.
  • Implement account-based marketing strategies to drive engagement with key accounts.
  • Build enterprise marketing programs spanning brand, strategic accounts, partnerships, vertical campaigns, executive engagement, national events, and thought leadership.
  • Create scalable local activation programs that branches and field sellers can deploy, including local market visibility, seller tools, targeted account support, and community engagement.
  • Own the data, enrichment, and segmentation strategy that fuels targeted outreach and account-based marketing.

Sales Enablement & Activation

  • In partnership with sales leadership, own the marketing infrastructure that helps sellers win, including value propositions by segment, sales presentations and pursuit materials, case studies and proof points, and vertical-specific messaging.
  • Develop account activation campaigns, customer-facing thought leadership, executive engagement materials, and playbooks for branches and sales teams.
  • Coordinate campaign follow-up and seller accountability so marketing-generated demand is worked and converted.

Customer, Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Lead market segmentation, customer research and voice-of-customer insights, competitive intelligence, and analysis of industry and vertical trends.
  • Size market opportunities, map the customer journey, and identify emerging growth opportunities.
  • Bring market intelligence into executive decision-making to help the company decide where to compete and how to win.

Brand, Communications & Reputation

This role leads external and corporate communications and partners closely with the People/HR function on internal, employee, and HR communications, with both teams aligning on shared messaging.

  • Lead external and corporate communications, public relations, executive communications, social media, and community relations. Partner with the People/HR team on employer brand and collaborate on employee-facing communications, with HR leading internal, employee, and HR communications.
  • Lead reputation management and crisis communications, a priority given the nature of the restoration business, in coordination with executive leadership.

Marketing Operations, Technology & Data

  • Partner with IT, Data, and Technology teams to shape the marketing technology roadmap and CRM integration, defining marketing's requirements for lead routing and hand-off, data quality, and attribution methodology.
  • Work with IT and Data teams to deliver marketing dashboards and customer and prospect segmentation, and inform shared decisions on technology investment and the responsible use of AI and automation.

Team & Organizational Leadership

  • Design the marketing organization, set priorities and operating rhythms, and establish clear roles and accountability.
  • Recruit, develop, and build the capabilities of the marketing team, and lead the function through organizational change.
  • Manage agencies, technology partners, and vendors, and drive cross-functional execution of an integrated annual marketing plan.

Performance & Accountability

  • Establish KPIs, monitor performance, and continuously optimize campaigns for effectiveness.
  • Own a commercial scorecard that includes marketing-sourced and marketing-influenced pipeline, revenue contribution, lead-to-opportunity and opportunity-to-win conversion, pipeline velocity, customer acquisition cost, account engagement and penetration, return on marketing investment, cross-sell and expansion influence, and event-generated pipeline.
  • Establish an executive operating cadence, including annual and quarterly planning, monthly business reviews, pipeline and attribution reporting, budget forecasting, and clear intake and prioritization for marketing requests.
