Job description

Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): AZ, FL, GA, NC and TX.

The Senior ITAM Analyst is responsible for advanced data analysis, monitoring, and governance of Shadow IT within the IT Asset Management (ITAM) Program. This role focuses on identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with unauthorized or unmanaged hardware and software operating outside established IT controls and processes. The analyst will leverage data-driven insights to uncover trends, enhance visibility, and support risk mitigation strategies. This role may also contribute to cross-functional governance, risk, and compliance initiatives.


Responsibilities
    • Data Analysis
      • Conduct advanced data analysis to identify, quantify, and monitor Shadow IT across the organization.
      • Evaluate technology consumption patterns, business practices, and emerging trends to detect unauthorized or unmanaged technology usage.
      • Develop insights and recommend remediation strategies and governance enhancements to reduce risk and improve visibility.
      • Prepare detailed analyses and data models to support informed decision-making and Shadow IT governance efforts.
    • Operational Support
      • Support day-to-day Shadow IT governance operations, including intake, investigation, and resolution of unauthorized technology usage.
      • Partner with business units, IT teams, and security stakeholders to remediate findings and ensure alignment with organizational policies.
      • Resolve escalated compliance, risk, and policy-related issues.
      • Identify and implement improvements to monitoring, detection, and response processes.
    • Reporting
      • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports that highlight Shadow IT trends, risk exposure, compliance posture, and remediation progress.
      • Identify systemic issues, patterns, and emerging risks to inform proactive governance strategies.
      • Deliver actionable insights and recommendations to improve processes, controls, and program effectiveness.
      • Support leadership reporting with clear, concise summaries of risk posture and control performance.
    • Communications
      • Translate complex data and technical findings into clear messaging for stakeholders at all levels.
      • Partner with cross-functional teams to raise awareness of Shadow IT risks, policies, and governance expectations.
      • Prepare presentations, summaries, and briefings for leadership and governance forums.
      • Promote adoption of ITAM and Shadow IT governance practices through targeted communication and education efforts.
    • Special Projects
      • Lead or contribute to strategic initiatives related to ITAM, Shadow IT, and broader governance, risk, and compliance programs.
      • Support tool implementation, data integration, and automation efforts to enhance Shadow IT detection and management.
      • Participate in audits, assessments, and process improvement initiatives.
      • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to mature ITAM and governance capabilities.
    • Leadership & Partnership
      • Serve as a forward-thinking leader and lifelong learner, modeling governance best practices.
      • Educate ITAM and technology partners to improve governance capabilities and risk awareness.

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Analytics, Modeling or Reporting

High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Analytics, Modeling or Reporting

 

Preferred Experiences:

  • Demonstrated IT Asset Management (ITAM) experience, with understanding of Shadow IT risks, governance practices, and lifecycle management. Hands on experience with ServiceNow a plus.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory expectations (e.g., FFIEC) and governance frameworks such as ITIL, NIST, and COBIT, with the ability to apply them to Shadow IT risk management.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to aggregate, correlate, and interpret large data sets to identify Shadow IT trends, risks, and remediation opportunities.
