Job description

Senior Accountant

Weaver Consultants Group seeks an accounting professional with at least five years of experience who is looking for a role that offers variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact to join our growing Accounting team!

Our Approach to Accounting

We are a dynamic company that grows carefully by double digits each year, and our Accounting function is unlike most. Approximately 700 employees work from 20 offices across the country in seven business units in an organization that is structured similarly to a law firm.

Approximately 180 employees are shareholders of three holding companies that own a series of LLCs, and our financial reporting consolidates the results of 32 profit centers. Our Accounting group consists of 16 professionals who work in a highly coordinated environment, with most staff working remotely.

One example of what we accomplish together:  Every one of us participates in our month end close, which is consistently completed in 2½ business days.

It is a core value of our Company to develop leaders from within.  Our current hiring is due in part to Accounting staff moving into leadership positions.

Responsibilities:

  • Strong sense of professional independence and a clear understanding of the fiduciary responsibilities associated with an accounting role.
  • Ability to apply sound judgment when evaluating process and risk. While processes are important, not all exceptions carry the same level of risk or require the same response.
  • No reticence in actively participating in discussions focusing on best practices, process improvement, efficiency, and collaboration.
  • Focus on profitability and how accounting professionals can work with others to enhance profitability.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn, adapt, and improve processes through root cause analysis, development of sustainable solutions, and collaboration with others.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.  (CPA-eligible program; CPA not required)
  • Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle, reconciliations, month-end closing, and year-end preparation for external audit or review.
  • Experience working daily within a sophisticated ERP environment. We use Deltek Vantagepoint.
  • Working knowledge of consolidation theory. Candidates with direct experience in consolidated reporting will receive preference.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced-level Excel skills.

Location

Most members of our Accounting group work remotely, and we can hire candidates from across the United States. However, strong preference will be given to candidates located in the Chicago area where our Headquarters is located.

Since 1991, Weaver Consultants Group has built its reputation on three pillars: exceptional client service, strong project leadership, and smart business management. Our people are our greatest strength—driven professionals who listen, adapt, and deliver results that keep our clients coming back year after year. In an industry shaped by shifting regulations, evolving trends, and rapid innovation, we’ve thrived by embracing change and finding practical, forward-thinking solutions. If you’re looking to join a team that’s dedicated, resilient, and committed to making an impact, you’ll feel right at home here.
