Job description

Objective:

To analyze current infrastructure and design, implement, and maintain long term network solutions that benefit the value chain and the customers. Works under direction of the Team Lead and Tech Lead, maintaining best network practices.


Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure and maintain network environments across many different vendors including but not limited to switches, routers, wireless, VPN and firewall devices at local and remote locations. Essential elements of this responsibility include:
    • Ensuring the security and operational effectiveness of network elements
    • Implement and maintain a secure company network
  • Maintain the current environment and provide daily network support for the company
  • Review contracts from network vendors with management and make suggestions to ensure best pricing and solution
  • Maintain the network and architecture roadmap
  • Support the implementation and governance of network security controls, including monitoring, remote access, network segmentation, access control, and secure connectivity between internal, cloud, and remote environments
  • Support the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of a secure wireless infrastructure, including performance, coverage, authentication, access control, and guest wireless considerations
  • Assist the team in applying security guidelines and best practices across the network, including helping configure and maintain firewalls and other points where traffic enters and leaves the environment
  • Any other duties required

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Minimum 4 years of combined experience with router and switches with a proven track record in successfully implementing a VLAN environment
  • 1-2 years' experience with Juniper, Palo Alto, and Aruba technologies
  • Working knowledge and firm understanding of TCP/IP networks, WAN technologies, WLAN, VOIP, routing protocols, network requirements and capacity planning
