Job description

Title: Database Administrator
Location: Remote
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and optimize database performance using tools such as execution plans, Query Store, DMVs, wait stats, Extended Events, and SQL Profiler
  • Tune T-SQL queries and stored procedures (parameter sniffing, excessive reads, locking issues)
  • Diagnose and resolve deadlocks, blocking, and contention
  • Design and maintain indexing strategies and database statistics
  • Optimize ORM-generated SQL (Entity Framework) and address inefficiencies
  • Manage SQL Agent Jobs, triggers, and automation processes
  • Administer and tune Azure SQL databases (performance metrics, scaling, availability)
  • Partner with engineering and application teams on high-performance solutions

Required Qualifications:
  • 8+ years of DBA experience in SQL Server and/or Azure SQL production environments
  • Deep expertise in performance tuning, query plan analysis, and indexing
  • Strong understanding of transaction isolation, locking, and deadlock resolution
  • Proven experience collaborating with software engineering teams
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with CI/CD or DevOps for database deployments
  • Background supporting large-scale Azure SQL workloads
  • Experience with SaaS or multi-tenant environments
