The Opportunity
The department of Mathematics, Science and Technology of the Embry-Riddle Worldwide | College of Arts & Sciences seeks an experienced professor or working professional with a passion for research and education in addition to prior university experience who has a scholarship record commensurable with a tenured associate professor rank, to support our recently established and growing data science program. The primary initial need will be to develop and then first teach several courses within our growing data science program. Then, as various programs continue to grow, opportunities for additional more advanced courses are to be expected. The department offers a range of higher enrollment courses in domains throughout mathematics, in addition to the sciences, and an ideal candidate would also be able to teach some of these courses, such as mathematics or statistics; this would require a candidate having completed 18 graduate credit hours within one of those domains. In addition, a successful candidate will have an existing research agenda connects to Embry-Riddle's research focus areas and could benefit from collaboration with existing department faculty.
This is a fully remote online position within the U.S. with no relocation required; some faculty travel is required to attend mandatory college meetings and events as well as for scholastic activities, such as presenting at conferences .

Qualifications
Required Education and Qualifications:
  • PhD in Data Science or closely related field.
    • Candidates with a PhD in fields such as Physical Sciences or Engineering maybe considered if they have either a Masters degree in Data or Computer Science, or are otherwise credentialed to teach Data or Computer Science at the university level
  • Scholarship record and/or industry experience commensurable with tenured associate professor
