What is a remote motorcycle race team?

A remote motorcycle race team is a group of professionals who manage, support, and operate motorcycle racing activities without being physically present at the racetrack. Instead, they utilize advanced technology, such as live telemetry, video feeds, and communication tools, to monitor the race, analyze performance data, and make strategic decisions from a remote location. This approach allows teams to leverage expertise from around the world, improve efficiency, and reduce travel costs while still providing essential support to riders and on-site crew members.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote motorcycle race team member?

To thrive as a Remote Motorcycle Race Team member, you need expertise in motorcycle mechanics, race strategy, and data analysis, often supported by technical certifications or engineering degrees. Familiarity with telemetry systems, race simulation software, and communication tools is typically required. Strong teamwork, adaptability, and effective remote communication are crucial soft skills for coordinating with on-site and off-site team members. These competencies ensure optimal race performance, quick problem-solving, and seamless collaboration regardless of location.

What are some common challenges faced when working on a remote motorcycle race team, and how can they be addressed?

Working on a remote motorcycle race team often means collaborating with members who are spread across different locations, which can present challenges in communication, coordinating schedules, and ensuring everyone stays aligned on goals and tasks. To overcome these challenges, teams typically rely on digital collaboration tools, regular video meetings, and clear documentation of processes and responsibilities. Building strong relationships and maintaining open, proactive communication are key to ensuring smooth operations and quick problem-solving, especially when preparing for race days or addressing technical issues remotely.

  • Assist with questions pertaining to fitment, application, selection, and installation of motorcycle parts and accessories.
  • Advise on proper fitment and use of safety gear including helmets, jackets, pants, riding armor, boot, gloves, and more.
  • Help customers place orders for a complete customer experience.
  • Continually learn about a combination of some of the following: motorcycle parts and gear, motorcycle riding, motorcycle racing, dirt bike and offroad riding, adventure/touring riding, supercross/MX, bike modification, among others.
  • Work with a wide variation of teams on a case by case basis to ensure that we overdeliver in every opportunity is what this position is all about!

  • Be an excellent, polished communicator via verbal communication, as well as written.
  • Have the drive to assist their fellow riders all day, every day.
