Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments and screenings to understand clients’ substance abuse histories and mental health challenges.
  • Creating and implementing personalized treatment plans focused on addiction recovery and mental well-being, integrating evidence-based therapeutic approaches.
  • Facilitating both individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing methodologies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing to promote engagement and recovery.
  • Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and cohesive treatment experiences for clients.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will focus primarily on clients struggling with substance use disorders, including those with dual diagnoses. You will help clients navigate their recovery journey while addressing underlying mental health issues, enabling them to build fulfilling lives free from addiction.

Qualifications

To be eligible for this position, candidates must possess:

  • A valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in addiction counseling with a strong understanding of co-occurring mental health disorders.
Preferred Experience

While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience working in a substance abuse treatment setting and familiarity with evidence-based practices.
  • Prior involvement in telehealth services and an understanding of remote counseling methodologies.
  • Proven skills in motivational interviewing and other therapeutic techniques for enhancing client engagement.
Compensation and Benefits
